Well, i wanted to fill the background of a sketch with solid black,
did this with a ordinary marker

the result was that i get a unregular black (because of the different directions and multiple layers...)

so to come to my question:
how do you get a solid black?

Thx

I guess my first question would be what markers are you using?

I know that Prismacolors can work well in not "streaking" by using really smooth strokes and working moderately fast (the ink acutally bleeds nicely into each other and will eliminate the lines). Try to keep your strokes in the same direction. Also try to play around with different papers. Depending on the paper's absorbancy the ink of the marker will respond differently.

In my opinion, I think the best way to get a solid black that is clean is to use indian ink and apply it with a brush.

Hope that helps.
