Yes, it's been awhile, but I finally have something other than ad storyboards to show. Did this for a game called Mortyr II. It was a very refreshing change of pace from drawing happy families devouring Lipton Side Dishes...

Nothin' says lovin' like a burning Stuka! That's a dandy cover, MGH! If it were a model kit, I'd buy it. I really love the sky color. In the spirit of no asspats and good crits, I'd have to say that the levels of contrast on individual elements are out of whack. The gun, for instance, pops out dramatically from the clothing, making it feel unconnected. Maybe some deeper shadows in the drapery and some green tones reflected in the gun?
As an aside, I'm just puzzled as to how we won the war by fighting soley with the enemy's weapons. It's a crazy trend in games, ain't it? :D

Looks good. I like the blue highlights. The plane is a nice touch as well.

Thanks guys.
Yes, I'm still getting my head around the contrast thing. Comes from all those years of making things shinny & new (ie. The gun is a gun metal colour, so let's make it that colour).

Sweet! And a left-handed gunner to boot - don't see too many of those. Composition, motion and color is impressive! No other crits!
Cheers,

add some reds and yellows in the reflections on the gun, so it reflects the sorounding a bit more.

Good pic otherwise :)

Strong composition, great facial experession. The figure dynamic can be pushed a little bit further though for dramatic effect. I'd almost recommend pulling his arm even further back like he's trying to throw the grenade into next year.. orrr add motion blur to his hand. As it stands it appears to be that his hand is at the low point of his throw just before follow through. I'm also having difficulty trying to figure out if those are supposed to be clouds or large pillars of mustard gas because of the green tint, have you tried experimenting with more warm gray tones to pop the aircraft and figure out more? Overall it's a great piece of artwork, thank you for posting this. I'm just being anal retentive because it can be even cooler than it is.

i like the angle and intensity, but the clouds and explosion really take away from the full composition.
they look very unfinished or incomplete compared with the character and the plane.

If I haven't read the title of this game, I swear that's an awesome art for the upcoming Commandos: Strike Force. And he resembles The Sailor in Commandos. Hehe, really nice work and gotta love the fallen Stuka. Oh and it really has that WWII posters kind of color and feel. What gives me that impression is from his right hand and to us the hand to the left that holds the Stielhandgranate. The texture just really shows up and that's really cool.

Really nice, keep it up.

really amazing dude, and accurate too, looks like a real british commando :rendered: . The expression on his face is amazing and his gear looks great, the only thing i can point out is the german grenade and the folding stock of the mp40, but thats it, gj!

I like Lipton Side Dishes...almost as much as I like this picture.
Good work man.

Thanks all for the feedback.
Undertow: Hey, a more dynamic pose is a great idea, actually. Wish I'd thought of that, but now I will. I've already got a picture in my mind of how it might look. The sky colour had more to do with overall tone & mode than reality.
rI-n: I'll agree the barbed wire is a bit underdone, but for the sake of simplicity, the background I'd prefer to stay as is.
Again thanks everyone, I'm seeing how I might approach this differently next time.

Well, perhaps is a lot too late for this but it looks like the sight on the end of the barrels at the wrong angle. Even though it tapers back from the front it needs a bit of a turn counter-clockwise.

Lol I just noticed this but its kinda funny. I know hes probably supposed to look like he's throwing the grenade, lol, but he looks kinda like hes going:

"This is my grenade bitch, get your own, cause you aint gettin your hands on this puppy!"
