Hey. I'm working on this painting, and for the most part, I think I'm pretty much done. To finish it off, I want to make it look like she's pressing some holographic buttons and have screens hovering in front of her. I'm trying a few different things, but they all don't look quite right to me. Any ideas or explanations appreciated. I'm using adobe photoshop CS.

Thanks for looking.

I think you're pretty much there for most parts.

- I'd make her outreaching hand a LITTLE bigger. Just a tad so. To get the foreshortening/dynamic perspective effect.
- You might want to check out her hair....either she has a lopsided skull or a flat top skull....looks like her hair is where it should be with her head straight up but her head's tilted.
- Structure wise is pretty good, but can't say much coz its so stylized....it does "look right" so I think you're good to go on that part.
- I believe you're using a wacom....maybe you can try using longer strokes instead of shorter strokes when drawing line. It does take away the gracefulness of her figure when you have the jagged/hairy lines grabbing for attention. (ok for hair but not for body). If you have a small wacom tablet, then I suggest zooming out to work on longer lines, and zooming back in to detail.

That's about all I have to say.....keep em sharp.

Well, obviously you will do this on a layer above the others but I suggest using a low opacity airbrush or whatever tool you used for the glow feel behind here. First sketch out the keyboard on paper and when you paint it reverse it and any lettering. The Keys should be light and transparent but lettering should be a little more sharp. The key she is pushing should be brighter than the others and you might draw an ovel or lighter tone on the end of her finger to make it look like she is pressing something. After all that I suggest adding a little o the keyboards glow to her hand as a second light source.

I also agree with Darth about making the hand a little bigger (well... and all his advice given).

first what i saw is that it looks like her head got smashed against a wall or she got no skull
oh and when she got her a boobjob done they forgot to put silicons in her right boob , and her left boob is musceled( if that a word )
so not to be offensive or anything but you should get the drawing correct first and then start on painting this thing . for the major problems just flip the drawing horizontaly and you'll see them ....

thanks for all the crits. i did the horizontal flip thing and it did help me a lot. i fixed the head and breast, and did some more shading. i kinda gave up on the hologram effect, and just settled for some text. i'm considering redoing the coloring. actually i think i will.

i like it.
it's cool, even if it does have a strange title.
(simply "electric" sounds better, methinks.)

Her hair looks a lot better now doesn't it? Keep plugging away. Try more confident strokes next time.

hi,
nice looking piece.
the type looks good, but i wouldnt give up on the hologram idea just cause its tough.
you might be able to incorporate both.
heres an example: new layer, 40% opacity, slight gaussian blur.
