JoBeSu: Thanks. I'm glad you enjoy my stuff. It really is great to know people like work that I enjoy creating.
tyboogie: Thanks, that is quite a compliment. I am definitely always trying to strengthen my drawing skills.
killing.people: I'm glad you like them. If you wouldn't mind my asking, is there any specific reason you don't like the comic type stuff or is it a general feel?
ChadTHX1138: It's great to hear that someone likes that stuff. I have actually pulled back on the updates because I was literally scanning every other page out of my sketchbook including lots of doodles. However, if people like them I'll start scanning more of them.
Yaseck: Thanks, will do.
khangle81: Thanks, I enjoy painting a great deal. Just wish it wasn't such a toxic hobby :(
MessFX: Yep, that is me. I mean no offense by this, but do I know you from somewhere? I was racking my brain trying to remember the Steves that I know.
Lono: Thanks. I definitely will. Right after this reply, in fact. :)
Rad: Yep. I have a couple of things that have been up recently.
SkeletonDog: Hehe...I couldn't agree more. But, actually I can't take credit for those characters. That is HR riding on THB.

tough work, strong skills!!! :) i don't like much your latest though, it lacks the life (in the lineart) you succeeded to put in the others. the first is atomic bomba! :)

ChadTHX1138: Thanks :) That was my favorite part to draw as well.
I.was.ink: Thanks for the compliment. As much as I enjoy Bengal's work, as I mentioned to him, there is some bizarre sort of stylistic overlap going on. No joke, I've been drawing on range murata and katsuya terada as my main influences at the moment.
bengal: Wow. Thanks :) As for your comment, I'd really like to know how you retain the smooth line quality in some of your pieces that appear to be completely digital. The latest one was done completely on the computer and I'm finding that with something at around 300 dpi, to keep the line work from looking too scratchy, I zoom in a lot. This process takes a great deal from the rythm and flow of the overall piece. :(

I like how you have really simple cartoonish lines and the colors are painted realistically. It makes for a really unique style. Keep it up

ooh, the new one is very awesome i like.
killing.people: I'm glad you like them. If you wouldn't mind my asking, is there any specific reason you don't like the comic type stuff or is it a general feel?
this will be frusterating.
whew, put me on the spot. how dare you, having to explain my sputter from a week ago is frusterating .. ;)
it isnt a general feeling, i am not that brave ..
http://itchstudios.com/ugly_rabbit/hd27.jpg
i dont really like this one.
http://itchstudios.com/ugly_rabbit/thbflat.jpg
or this one compared to the other three.
i feel like a jackass for not being able to tell you why. fuck, i suck sorry. the only similarity i see is the black lines. but the new one has black lines, and i like it.
.. sorry, i feel rather foolish and like a bully 'cause .. i dont know why i dont like em. they are very good, you are a skilled artist, they just arent .. i dont know .. i hope i didnt frusterate you.
*maybe the composition, or color choices? eek! i dont know ..

Erik: Thanks, man. I'm glad you like :) I'll try to post some portraits some time.
Layil: Thanks, I'm glad you like the feel. I have definitely been experimenting with this look for a while.
killing.people: Nah, I don't think that at all. I'm jsut curious because I am really trying to guage people's reaction to my work especially if it is negative. If anything often times the "I don't like this" reaction is the best way to figure out what is working. One thing I did try this time that I didn't do the last time is that the interior lines are actually colored rather than just keeping them black. After doing that I noticed a big difference. If only it didn't take so long to do. :(

I thought I could maybe help on why people don't like the hulk one. The arms seem too short and the hands too small. Also the background doesn't seem to fit. Also that one thing looks like a micraphone. I'm not saying you aren't a good artist. You have some of the best stuff on this site. Hope that helps.

just thought I'd post a couple of new pieces:
http://itchstudios.com/ugly_rabbit/khary_c.jpg
http://itchstudios.com/ugly_rabbit/alice.jpg
I also want to mention that, if you like my stuff, I submitted a t-shirt design version of the alice piece to an online place where people can vote on t-shirt designs. The highests scores are made into screened (not cheap iron on) shirts. Please go there and sign up and vote for my shirt if you would like to see it made and contibute designs yourself. If you have any friends that you think would also be interested in having a t-shirt with my design or would like to create designs themselves, please pass the link on:
