To talk about everything go to "lounge" forum (f.e.).

Ok. This is not necessarily finished art... but it is what I do for a living. I work in Painter 6. These are frames from an animatic for GM Canada.

MAN!!! That is a F*cking great piesce of work. I vow for your instant change in status from NOOB to Art Squad Leader. You are a real profesional. Thanks for joining and posting.
Again, great piesce. Doesn´t need more but wouldn´t be bad without a little more work. But there´s everything. As much as needed and as less as neccesary. Please, could you do a tutorial on painter in due time?
That would be awfully great of ya.
Keep it up and about

THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS. CONSIDERING HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST IMAGES YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE TURN OF THE CENTURY FOR ME TO PROVIDE A TUTORIOL.
THANKS AGAIN.

WHY ARE YOU YELLING!?
Some of us are trying to get some sleep y'know.
Friggin' guy gets all the interesting projects. I get stuck drawing mom and the family in the kitchen! Hence the bit about sleep.

I use the marker option with a combination of 2b pencil and marker for the line.
Nothing complicated.

Hey Richie and Mark,
Maybe we should start some sort of storyboard thread. Seems the membership is starving for the best "concepts" corporate America has to offer.

First time post here. MGH & Dicksart, you guys rock. I'd really be interested in a storyboard tutorial, perhaps you should start a new forum for storyboards. I'd like to do storyboards. :D

Typical self-deprecating boarder. Hey being able to render that cherubic little snot eagerly munching a big mac is a great contribution to civilization as we know it.

Hi,
I like your medium shots, cleanly executed... especially the two guys from inside the truck... but the big headshot seems kind of blank (like a filler to say - okay actor, here's where you act some emotion, like, soldier... looks ... thoughtful.
I'm not being critical of your style or these boards even .. they're great. I guess I just wonder how you feel about doing headshots, those making up the majority of the storyboard at times ... do you figure it's worthwhile to be really artful when portraying facial expression ?? or is it not necessary, given the board is just saying: ok, here's the camera relationship to the head ... sorry if this ain't so well put.
I puzzle over this problem at times, esp. the head's relationship to the background.
If yer into lighting (which is what films are all about), why not add headlight, taillight reflections in the water ?

All these are very good.

Regarding the head shot. I draw what is requested of me. A storyboard artist does not tell the story for him/herself but for his client...namely the creative or art director so your ability to be creative is limited. They have to present their stories to their client so they have final say whether the board tells the story well or not.
Looking at the frames I posted, I see what you mean though.
I should point out that they are out of context. These are only six of a 22 frame animatic so the story flow has been screwed up. Thanks for the the crit though.
