First time ever posting on here, but I have been lurking in and out admiring all the great stuff that I continually see here for quite awhile now. Everything is very inspiring.

This was something that I started to do in photoshop to kill some time. Don't know what more to say other then that. I'm personally like how it's turning out, but don't really plan on continuing further. Crits are more then welcome.

Welcome to CA! Good to see new people joining in the fun :)
Well, this is pretty cool. I dig the overall idea, and the glowing/burning eye is nicely done.

I'm not sure the white background suits this piece quite as well as a light grey or desaturated other colour would do. White backgrounds (in my opinion anyway) are best avoided in digital painting especially, since they make characters look as if they're just floating in a void, rather than situated in a place.

Something you might wanna think about is flattening out values to show volume and form better - at the moment your brushwork seems a little messy (it's good to scribble, but also to refine those initial scribbles, even in a digital sketch!).
Check out what Prometheus says about this in his tutorial you can find here:
http://itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm
The main part to look at is about halfway down that document, under the heading "Flatten and simplify" - although it's all good reading!

The areas of tone on your character's face there are pretty blotchy, they'd do well to be flattened out as Prometheus describes in that document.

Overall, looks pretty good though! I look forward to seeing more of your work here!

Checked out the little tutorial about flattening and simplifying, and I do have to say that it helped a lot. I'm actually new to digital art, I'm an old fashioned pencil and paper person. This is actually the first good thing out of photoshop that I have done. The tutorials that this site has and that other people suggest are really helpful, because I usually reach a point where I have no idea what else to do, in this case it was flattening and simplify, Thanx again MoP.

Now, I'm waiting till the end of Spring Break to get a Wacom, can't wait. >:D

Hey, if this was just mousework, then that's double-good! I originally though it was done with a tablet... I'm sure when you get a Wacom you'll be bangin' out some really great digital work. It really helps a lot bridging the gap between digital and traditional art.
Improvement... score! :confident

Just found this. It is something that I did about 1.5 to 2 years ago. There are some things that I like and some things that I don't.
