What are the top ten cartoons you turned on to watch, not just sat through if they were there. And did you prefer the cartoons of your childhood or the stuff they churn out now?
Futurama
Thundercats
Earthworm Jim
Super Dave
Samurai Pizza Cats
Batman of the Future
Teen Titans
Trap Door (it's claymation so what)
Galaxy Rangers
phantom 2040
I still watch cartoons but they'll never grab me like they used to. 80's/90's cartoons all the way.

seems most of the good cartoons these days are aimed at adults. but perhaps that perception is because we are now adults.

You guys forgot Ren & Stimpy. Just picked up the box set of the first two season and I forgot how twisted they were. I can't believe how some of those passed the censors!
Also:
The Adventures of Batman
Silverhawks
M.A.S.K
Superfriends
Spiderman (re-runs of the 60's show)
Danger Mouse (which is coming to DVD in May!!!)
Sea Lab 2021
T.M.N.T.
The Simpsons (only seasons 1-6)

Well I do believe that the 80's where the golden age of American cartoons...things seem to have gotten off tract with cartoons like Pokemon, Digimon, Yugi-oh (don't know how to spell it) now being the most popular instead of dramatic based cartoons. But thankfully there has always been the good with the bad.
The dramtic/action based cartoons are my favorite all funny toons (cept Furi Kuri!!!!) come a distant third.
X-Men 90's version (the first American cartoon that really kicked ass and took names later)
Justice League Unlimited (Wow!)
Batman the Animated Series
Robotech (alltime favorite)
Cowboy Bebop
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Gargoyles
Transformers (Original series)
G.I.Joe
Batman Beyond

:S I wouldn't be an artist today if it wasn't for that Cartoon. At least it's first season...... *snifff* I still have a grudge toward that air head at Disney that decided to push the original creator of the serie on the side and "refocus the show" to younger viewers, which really meant just dumbing it down with stupid storyline and horrid story arcs.
Today's Oblongs seemed very promising. But I can't catch it on TV anymore... Does Rex The Runt count ?
Cartoons aired in France when I was a kid rocked. They weren't censored (Ken of the north star, Saint Saya, COBRA, etc.) until some parents realised what was actually going on in those cartoons. We didn't turn up so bad
As for todays' cartoons, seems like the animation industry was too busy churning crap titles for shameful mounds of money and didn't pay attention to the ratings. Kids don't like cartoons because they were so bad that no one would want to watch them for a at least 4 years. Some more recent titles have given me new hope for the genre like Teen Titans, etc.
