ok ok... i am not a big video game player... the last game i played was ffx2 for 3 hours before my ps2(bought on day one finally died) decided DRE errors were better than game play... well i stopped for a year... but got hooked on ubisofts Sands of time and then i had to get warrior within. man i loved this game... well i used to love it.
ok so i get all the way to the end... and i mean all i have to go through is a portal and fight the empress and there you go the ending... well that is until a major bug does not allow the prince to run through and go forward in time to kick some empress ass. what it does do is nothing ... sands swirl around but nothing is done. oh and it you hit Z those magical sands disapear.
ok i know the cube has many issues but... i tried it on another cube but the same thing happens.
i have not played a game this buggy before... it was wierd. but i loved the first game and since i was a huge fan of the original series its good to see the games story progressing so well and the artwork is amazing.
AARG!!!

Maybe it was copy of the game itself?
I think you just have bad luck when it comes gaming man, heh.
Personally I've never come across any bugs on the Gamecube, nor the PS2. Though the Xbox has done me over a few times.
I suggest trying to get another copy of the game. If that doens't help, then damn.

I played through that game on the gamecube. It is very buggy and unpolished. There was one place where I could walk through a metal door :tihi: As for your getting stuck, I don't know, try triggering something else in the game if you can, or going back to a prior save? That sucks, it should never happen but obviously they rushed that game out for the holidays.

Yeah, it's almost certainly the game, or the copy of the game.
EDIT: And I cannot allow a mention of PoP2 to occur without posting this link right here. (http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2004-12-03)

Everyone here at the studio got a huge kick of that penny arcade skit :D
I managed to crash the cube with Metroid Prime twice. I think I went somewhere I wasn't supposed to yet.. Anyway, I was completely suprised !

Heh, that's never a problem with Metroid Prime, given the extensive art of Sequence-breaking in the game. Did you know you can get the Space-Jump Boots first, and you can get through Magmoor Caverns to the Drifts without the Varia Suit? etc. (http://www.metroid2002.com) And that site even has a couple of videos of known crashes in addition to the huge amounts of technical and speed run vids. Check er out.

i talked with tech support again they said i cant use the rewind feature... so i didn't... and guess what... its still broke. then i called the tech suppost and they said to try the game over and if it happens again they will send me a sealed game and then i can return it to a retailer (like walmart) he said walmart is my best bet lol....
egerie.... buddy... pal... all i want to see is the ending... why did there have to be a game fatal bug right before the last boss... ARRRG!!! well i think i will get my rma # and then return the game for some $$$ and go bid on the art of POP on ebay.... cause thats all i wanted to see anyways...

pc bugs are different than console bugs pc bugs can be because of your system setup and not the game...
how many nintendo nes games had game fatal bugs? none that i could think of or they wouldn't have released them. as systems get more complex the amount of bugs skyrockets. hmmm i would rather wait an extra month for a bug free game than be told by tech support that it is a programming error.... so sorry but you have to start over... LAME.... i rate most original nes games better than most ps,ps2,xbox games. dont get me started on early 90's computer games compared to todays... todays suck gameplay wise there is not replay value unless your playing a sports game.
PoP2:WW update
70% through the game again this time on hard mode... i swear if it craps out i am going to break some shit!!!!

maybe your laser on the cube is starting to go south..
sounds odd but it's already started for my friends (though they do put countless hours on their system every single day)

It may not be the cube, Otto. I read somehwere that there's actually a bug in the game itself that triggers way early in the game, but doesn't manifest til the end. If you go back through a time portal that you just went through, this can trigger it. And once you do it, your game is fucked.
I'm not sure if it's cube only, or all platforms. I can't remember if I've gone back and forth on my copy (I think I have) but I haven't gotten to the end yet.
But man, I totally feel for you. Those bugs are the absolute worst kind. I had one happen about halfway through Anachronox like that where it just wouldn't go forward anymore, and another one after playing Daggerfall for like months, and I finally got back to the main quest, got almost to the end and then some glitch happened in the quest structure and it was game over.
It's heartbreaking to spend all that time getting through a game only to find out at the end that a bug is stopping you from completing it and the only solution is to start over. :/
But anyways, I just wanted to say you're probably not alone. There are other people that have noticed this bug, so it's not just your copy, it's your save file. (I found this info, btw, looking for a walkthrough, trying to see how many life upgrades I missed...)
