cool concept. I love all his tools, and rods. I really like teh weaved basket material on his back, and head. But, hes got too much metal armor for a fisherman IMO. More of the basket weave would go better, But as you said you're done. Either way looks nice the way it is really.

Very cool. Is it wise to hang your knife from your fishing pole? Or hooks from your crotch? Maybe he likes to live dangerously. He is wearing armour, after all! There must be some serious sh't hanging out in that water.

thanks everyone- I will try to share more work like this with you guys in the future, it feels good to break from the metroid sci-fi universe every once in a while.

swamp- good point, I wanted it too look more like fish scales but it does read more like metal

i.was.ink, i used the tinting tool, the chalk brush, the medium felt tip pen, and some glow, I drew it with a mech pencil and added a base set of values with markers before I scaned it in

empty- you always inspire me manny

death jester, "that artists" name is AAron McBride, he is a really talented guy, I used to work with him in the ILM art department. I wanted this character to feel nomadic without the constraints of a boat, and more agressive that someone who fishes off a river bank.the stilts were an after thought. perhaps aarons image was lingering in my sub-consiousness somewhere its impossible to argue.
call a spade a spade.

tedsou- huh? i guess its better to have a knife hanging from your rod and not need it than need a knife hanging off your rod and not have it, the crotch hooks may have been a bit much.

killing- awesome to see you on the boards agian, I was missing.you :)

I love the melancholy nature of the drawing...the grays and the expression really establish a mood...awesome stuff. Do you sketch out your stuff in pencil most of the time before you bring it in to paint it?

Hola! That is one freaky fisherman!! It needs a creepy story or fable to go with it. I remember a story when I was a kid about this witch who would catch children swimming in the river with a fishing net and then eat them. It really freaked me out when I was young. I love your drawing overall but the one thing that stands out that I really like is the very quick and fluid look in which you drew the fish. Love your art!!

Outstanding and very original. The legs are neat. Reminds me of the aliens from a game called Outcast.

Excellent work Android! :nana
