i was wondering if anyone had any high res images of works by john singer sargent on their hard drive or somewhere on the net they could post. i went to the book store but htey only have like 4 high res images in the book, or what people here would call "detail" shots ;). anything will be greatly appreciated. thanks!! :yayca:

lol. i wish i had that kind of cash man. i live in delaware. the closest museum around is in philly and they have nothing there. actually they have all of dalis works for a while. the first time in the us all his works are here i think? im seeing that. where would there be a museum around delawre that would house sargents works? im still interested if anyone has any high rezs though!!! ;)

I'm pretty sure the first portrait Denart posted isn't by Sargent, but he's the subject of the painting. I believe Giovanni Boldini painted it.

Also, you're not looking very hard if you can't good museums in the area. You're right in the middle of Brandywine School country! (Pyle, Wyeth, Schoonover, Wilcox-Smith, etc...) Not to mention Thomas Eakins and Robert Henri were around the Philadelphia area as well. There are plenty of museums that have their works and their followers' works.

Hey blue puppy, if you're looking for some high quality and quantity images of sargent, patdzon is right, definitely head over to art renewal if you haven't yet. If you like that type of art you will fall in love with that site. They have sooooooooo much work on there and so many artists. It's one of the best art sites I've ever seen.
