I like the contrast between the tech and the "primative" patterns and designs.

Landmate, she looks beautiful. As far as your technique and skill go, it looks very well done. I look forward to a colored version!
As far as concept goes I was wondering...
Since she is the Goddess of Victory, perhaps her pose should be more dynamic and less demure. Also, maybe try having her wear something that doesn't rescrict her legs, something she can really run and jump in. Don't get me wrong, I really love your design. I'm just sharing my thoughts concerning how I'd view the concept of the goddess Nike.

the nike thing is just something she looked like to me, it wasnt intentional, and as far as running and jumping, most of the nike figures i have seen have large cumbersome tunics and such, so.. im not sure of your reasoning there..

:D
Well, I'm sure you've done quite a lot more research on the classical Nike than I. The only statue I can recall seeing of her is devoid of mostly everything but her torso and wings. Now that I think about it, that same statue showed her wearing a flowing dress.
Did a search and found a picture (http://www.ablemuse.com/premiere/bhouston_nike.htm). It confirms that her long outfit matches yours, so good call there on your design.
I wasn't knocking your design, like I said I think your design rocks, I was just sharing my idea about the seeing goddess of victory as dynamic. Maybe yours is just resting between victories and remembering past glories. Or maybe she's planning the next victory. :)

i don't mean to be a bug player but can you sort'ah tell me how you go about the process. i know that when you scan something it comes in with the paper packgroung, do you use the pencil tool when sckecting it in PS? I am useing painter 7 and am trying to learn it. I know that it would be the same process. Anything will help me.
Thanks

Wonderfull line work Landmate,
now it is just fill in the colors...
What color scheme do you have in mind? I figure her skin is going to be kind of a light value, so maybee a bit of contrast with the outfit?

She has a head... buhu....;).. Anyways I love this statue. Nike from the cemetary at samotrak. Infact I have a large version of it as sculpture at home wich I bought at creete when i was there.
However... Your version seems to lack the fundamentals of the attitude behind her. SO infact you are gonna call this NIKE then try to captyre that feeling and make her more overwhelming and feed her with power, as she is know she seems content and sort of lazy....
anyway ill look forward to seeing it finished.

I am a big fan of your works, i'm impressed how you threat lines, they're so clean and minimalised. Also, everything you do in color is great. This lady got really cute head, great design.

the shoulder on the left arm seems a little tight, and makes the arm look too linear. The lines defineing the form of the bicept are too symetric.

I love this drawing. I looked at it a couple weeks ago, and just remembered how much I liked it. I am glad that when I came back it was still posted, I downloaded it and it's going on one of my walls. It's definitely a tight drawing, I'd like to see a colored version, but I might just try coloring it on my own.
Thanks for the Drawing!
