Some much needed advice, please help

well here it goes, i was on a BTEC course on graphic design, but alot of things happened this past year, including a really bad relationship, and i got really depressed and ive been suffering from insomnia. I started to miss alot of college, and now ive been kicked out because im so far behind, its all my fault i know, but now i need to sort things out. I would love to get into the concept design/illustration buisness, its my biggest dream and i want it more than anything. Take a look at my work at the moment, http://photobucket.com/albums/v148/davidskiwan/ I know im not quite near the proffesional standard, but im very commited to learning, and ive had a lot of experience in; different game mods, creating refrences, character design, pinup art, posters, typography, 3d modeling/skinning, level design, my own fan manga (2 years old now >:| http://freelance.orcon.net.nz/), ive done sprites/huds, and even a small job in the past in web design. Im well versed in tradition art, done alot of painting, sculpture, textiles, abstract art, life drawing, etc.

I live in the UK and im not sure exactly what i could do now, or what i can plan to do right now, atm im looking for any job that can bring money in, i'd love it to be an art job though, but if there are any courses i should check out, schooling learning, apprenticships, anything i'd love to find out (why ive come here for some much needed adivce). I got pretty good grades at GCSE, A's in english maths and art, and B's in science and english, the rest of my grades were all above grade C (except ICT cuz i didnt do any coursework, aced the exam though to get a D). I did a year at AS level but i dropped out because i started suffering from my insomnia then, I got 2 D's (art and psychology) and an E (sociology).

Please if you have any idea's or advice for me, please help as i need it now more than ever. Thank you ^_^.

Dude, you talk about grades & such but what's the portfolio looking like?? Let's see some of the drawings here. If you're really committed to doing what you say you want to do, let's see it.

Uh Whiz...

He did post a few of his pics online here. Admittedly it's not bad but I'd like to see some more consistency in the drawings. And if it comes down to checking out a therapist to get your life back in check, do so. It's nothing to be ashamed of. This field puts an immense amount of pressure on you already without the day-to-day living life struggles. it never hurts to talk to a professional counselor if you think it'll help get you back on track.
