My first "real-life" animal sculpture. (As opposed to my usual aliens and such)
I went for the Asian Elephant. (They have so much facial character) I wish the fore-head detail showed better in the photo, but my skills with the digi-cam have much growing to do as well.:(
Size-wise, it is about 3 inches by 4 inches. Time-wise......2 1/2 to 3 hours start to finish. Thoughts,Crits, opinions?

looks good
i guess you are right with the eyes and the tooth should be a bit bigger and if i remember corectly they are part of the upper jaw so maybe there base should be a little bit higher and parallel to the root of the proboscis
p.s. man i wish my artshop would get his lot of super sculpy ,would really like to start some 3d too ó_ò

khangle81- Thanks for noticing my hard work. I tried hard to give it a real-life feel.:)
ODIN SIX- Thanks ODIN......I wanted to do this one from my head mostly. Because Asian elephants are different from other elephants, I had to use a reference for the distiguishing characteristics to make sure I got it exact. Mostly the detailing for the eye, and the ears. I'm happy with how it turned out.

keun-chul- Glad you like him. I love big Silverback Gorillas. They are amazing animals. It seemed fitting to make one out of clay. I'm not sure what animal to do next, but I will post it up when I figure it out and get it done.:)
Oblio- Thanks, and whenever I get time one day, I will do a tutorial. (Lots of people are asking for one) I am pretty busy with life and learning myself right now, but I will someday. (hopefully sooner than later)
I want to get established myself first, then teach others. ;)

Looks good!
Ha. I never know which forum to post in to comment on your art. :D I should switch off between the two.
About the sagittal crest issue.. I found a picture and your sculpt matches. :D gorilla profile pic (http://homepage.mac.com/rstacy/%20images/pages/gorillas/2001/012101A25.html)

Thanks man. I appreciate the confirmation.:) I did my research and stuff on this, and learned a lot. Amazing animals. I'm really striving to give a look of realism in my work. It took me a few hours to complete this one. I'm happy with it. I just thought I'd see what other people thought. :chug:
