The pic is quite nice, though I'm not an expert on abstract styles (or more realistic ones, for that fact).

By my interpretation, an abstract portrait attempts to strip away the more realistic information in order to present the viewer with a particular mood, possibility or emotion.

In the instance of this pic I'm not really sure what the emphasis is meant to be. Light & shade?

well... it's hard for me to explain my images.
.. especially in english :]

i allways tried to let my subconciousness take over the control while painting/drawing. i wouldn't call this an abstract piece.. imo it's more expressive than abstract. i just "use" the abstraction.
