I've been with a life drawing group for a couple months now. Not much good yet, but now and then I get lucky. I was happy with this one.

Hi
When looking at the drawing I feel that the either the ear or the face and the area above the ear has the wrong direction compared to rest of the head. Might of course be wrong (see my signature ).
I like the drawing and if I did anything near this at a lifedrawing I would be bouncing around like a ball for like a week :)

The ear is much too high! It's a gorgeous piece except for the ear.
Check in the mirror, your ear starts a little bit above the bottom of your nose, and ends near the top of the eyebrow.

Hi there.
Without going into the technical points of your life drawing, I will only say this. You can read guide after guide after guide... 'How to Draw in 10 Easy Steps'... blah, blah... You could have someone looking over your shoulder in a life drawing session, telling you whats wrong with individual parts.
Its all 'P!!s and wind'. At least in regard to the long term development of your artwork. My biggest criticism of life drawing and a symptom that plagues ninety percent of its inhabitants (even the most talented artists), is that people do not spend nearly enough time looking at their models, and far too much time looking at whats on their paper.
If you are teaching someone to do a life drawing, pose for them, and as soon as they break eye-contact for a period of more than five seconds, remind them you're still there. By the end of the life drawing, they'll notice improvements (generally), and your face will be immortalised in a way you'd want... Unless of course your incredibly ugly and sensitibe about this very fact.
Hope I haven't opened myself to the biggest arsehole of the year award again, after this email,
Keep drawing,
Trower.

Thanks everyone for the replies you are all quite correct.
The ear is too high , she was bowing her head a bit, but the rest of the face doesn't look that way. Oh well here's a couple more.

Here are a few of the better ones from the last few weeks.
If anyone here is in the Phoenix area, this has been a really good drawing group and we need more people to join in order to keep us going. Feel free to e-mail me or call 480-228-3639
The instructor is J.D. Parrish former student of Burne Hogarth and teacher of Jason Manley and Howard Lyon.

Hey, nice pics here. Maybe you could work on anatomy from books, to understand why human body looks like it is. Also without thinking are yours pics looks good.
In my school I was doing 150/70 model studies, with chalcoral* (15 hours each), and I think this is the best way.
Also some models could be more ugly.
*sorry for my bad english:)
