Anyone have any recommendations for a school that offers that subject or something related to that in Canada?
So far, the only place I've found is Art Institute of Vancouver and the Art Institute of Toronto, but I've been hearing bad things about the AIs....
Any comments would be good.

umm I live in Victoria, and the only places ive heard of are the 2 that you said. I am also looking to get in to that sort of a career. And from looking at there sites they dont seem to offer and courses that deal with gaming design.

The Vancouver Film School is widely recognized as one of the best 3D animation programs in the area. Get a solid 3D education along with good drawing skills and you should be fine. I believe VFS also offers a program going through the traditional animation department then the 3D dept to really nail character design, set design and drawing skills even before you start doing any 3D. Worth looking into.
