hey kiddies

Well here is another one I did all in photoshop. I was going to make it a splash page for my site but decided to nix that idea. Its been alot of fun trying new techniques and seeing the results. Never thought I would like using black so much. ahhaah.

I decided it would make a better desktop for a buddy of mine. Here is a bigger version if you guys want to DL it. (400k)

Very impressive piece, it reminds me of a Brom painting, very tight and very detailed, yet with a great moody atmosphere.

Incredible piece!

You didn't, by chance, happen to go to W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax VA, did you? I knew a James Hawkins who was a senior when I was a freshman there. I also drove his little brother Tim to school in a carpool during my Junior and Senior year. I also believe this James went to JMU. Just curious.

Long live Mrs. Hammonds!

Muttonhead knows my secret past. He also knows my old HS art teacher who would crap a brick if she saw me drawing this stuff.

HAha. Sorry if I blew your cover!

Very cool work. Your site is great. Congrats!

Good to see a fellow Northern Virginian doing the Lord's work! Don't worry about Sandy, she wouldn't know good art if it hit her in the head.

If you see Tim, tell him Sean Murray said HI.

His feet is three times bigger than his head. But, if that was the concept, that's OK.

I like the detail on this guy and his right hand-gun.

His feet are three times bigger than his head? I can see both feet, the one in the forefront at an angle, although armoured, not extremely large or out of proportion. The feet are slightly big, which, to me, lend to more heroic proportions.

Hawkprey,
I was looking at your picture again and I was wondering, how did you render all the little scratch lines on the guy's armor? I know you did it in Photoshop so I was wondering what tool you used and what your original resolution was. It’s an interesting effect.
