As part of an experiment to raise awareness for unknown artists, we are seeking artists to participate in the creation of a book. You can contribute both written texts and visual artworks.
The book will contain 200 pages yet to be created. It will be printed in four-colour-print (CMYK) with a circulation of at least 1000 copies, and is to be financed and distributed via eBay.
The San Francisco Examiner wrote a nice feature story about this book.
If you'd like to know more about this project called "International Artists Lounge", please feel free to check out our website at
www.internationalartistslounge.com go to
www.ebay.com and search for "to be created", or read the story in the San Francisco Examiner,

Could you explain how this is not a lame gimmick. Are you an artist? Will you be contributing? Do you really care about the artist's and their passion?
If you want people to take this seriously you are going to have to actually try a bit more than that.

What is this nonsense? To anyone reading this, get involved in Meta's weekly drawing bouts.

Meta's trying to get a book together as is, AND you have fun in the process. Support this siteand your fellows, not something as shady as this...

What a concept. Charge people to contribute to a book to be published, with a distribution based on e-bay...Uh-huh...Like anyone in publishing, TV, movies, etc. would be scouring e-bay to find your ideas in such a book...As well as putting your artwork into a book that you had to pay to have included, with no renumeration for your art once the book is published, printed, and sold...
What an assinine idea. Pay to have your art included in a book to be sold, with NO return to you.
No listing of what is considered to be "the most important American companies in the fields of literature, movies, and broadcasting..." Any profits from the sales of the remaining books (out of 1000, each page's artist gets a copy, and then all the free copies being sent to those "important companies..." Notice they don't list anywhere who or what or how many of these "important companies" are...with the remainder sold on e-bay), will NOT provide you with any royalties, but a whopping 10% of the profits will go to the UNESCO Cultural Fellowships Programme. And subsequent editions will be sold on Amazon.com, and/or in selected bookstores...Top bid for Visual Artworks is currently $10.50 for the one page...HAHAHAHAHAHA! Talk about selling out your own artwork!
"Shady" is the understatement of the year on this one!

The first pages sold around 2.50, thats right. We also sold a page for $ 41 coming to an average of ~$18 right now. You see - it is not about making money out of this "idea" (actually right now it looks like we are going to loose some money with it...)
We thought it would be interesting to create a book by collecting content from artists all over the world via internet - that is in fact the idea of German Bauhaus - to combine technology with art. We already received the first contributions from the US, UK, Phillipines, Sweden and Pakistan- short storys and pictures - most of it really good work! And yes, we reserved some space for our own screenplay idea.
I did not want to initiate a discussion that makes us look like some guys who are trying to cheat on smbd! Because we are not! And @ "madster": What do you mean with this "artwork for only 10.50" thread? If you think this can not be real art - then why don´t you try to bid higher and publish some of your own work. It seems like YOU invented the ART in general - so that might be an easy way to get a bit of publicity outside this forum!

Hello everyone, I have a new site to help artists and customers get together, it costs nothing and I am certain with a little advertisement it will become very popular.
Visiit http://artistsontap.blogspot.com/
You can hire capable artists to create personal masterpieces for you, your family, your girlfriend/boyfriend or your business. Post your project and have capable artists work night and day pouring sweat and tears over your personal masterpiece. You can have a talented sculptor create your likeness out of clay or have a modern day Michelangelo add that missing loved one to a family portrait or have a master metal worker create that steel sculpture you’ve been dreaming about. Artists can make even the craziest of ideas work!
Visit http://artistsontap.blogspot.com/
Tell your friends help make this a hit. Artists need food too, please feed the artists of the world.
