Hey
Can anybody help me out here? I really want to know where i can get a sketchbook thats got colored paper - like a grey or some other middle tone.
I've asked and asked around my local art shops... but i know they do exist!
Can anyone help me out with maybe an online shop they know of?

It depends on where you live. Ever thought of dickblick.com? In Germany/Europe: boesner.com. And you might try and color the pages yourself, with watercolor, inks, coffee...

You're welcome. I'm a woman btw. ;) Funny, my dream is to go and live in Scotland again some day (stayed in Aberdeen for half a year at the end of the eighties and loved it!). Ummm, just another thought: Try museum shops like (don't know if it still exists) Juniper's at the Aberdeen Art Gallery - they used to have interesting sketchbooks as far as I remember.

hey
sorry about the man thing, woops
I was in dundee for the last 3 years, - its pretty near to aberdeen - and just as dark during the winter!
Scotlands amazing during the summer, but we hardly get summers anymore really.
Its been strangly difficult to find any sketchbooks with a mid tone like grey at all, the shops in glasgow keep assuring me that they dont exist. but i do know they do. annoying. scotlands so backwards sometimes.
if u dont mind me asking, what did u like about aberdeen?

No offense taken, really, just wanted to let you know.
As for summer and winter in Scotland - the time I spent in Aberdeen was from October 88 to March 89 (ages ago, I know!) and it was gorgeous. It was a very mild winter (apart from some snow on 1st November and a few cold days in February as far as I remember) and we had lots of clear days with stormy weather which didn't make it that dark.
What I liked in Aberdeen? Well, I stayed at a students hall in Old Aberdeen, which was a bit "remote" but nice and quiet and very close to my university buildings (walking distance). I enjoyed how relaxed the city was and how the granite buildings sparkled when the sun was out. The Art gallery was a place I often went to, the cinema was ok and - I found many friends there, one of which I still have contact with (she's now living in London).
I regard the 6 months up there as some of the best in my life, so probably it's a very special thing.
However, me and my partner went to Scotland on holidays quite often since then (even in the winter, March 95 in the Highlands was great) and always loved it. Never found it backwards, though.
