I'm a sophomore in highschool and im looking into colleges mostly in the 3d modeling, visual effects, animation, etc... I was wondering if anyone would list some of the top schools in this area as to give me an idea on colleges. i have tried to contact major companies such as WETA and got some information but they could not reccomend anything.
Also Math is not one of my strong points, How important is math in art schools. Do i need to to take Algebra 2? i understand it would be a good thing but, is it necessary?

You need to take Algebra 2 to graduate from highschool! :D Math is always recommended, no matter what field you're going into, especially computers, but for art it really isn't as necessary as it is with like Computer Science or something. Still, math helps you lots with other things in life, like thinking on your feet, and remembering stuff. It'll also help you crunch numbers really fast if you're doing a 3D model that involves exact measurments. Anyway, don't blow off your Highschool math just because you don't specifically need it for something. All the highschool classes just prepare you for workloads in life, and help your brain develop, even if the math itself isn't necessary for your field of employment. :perv:

No problem at all. Hopefully the listings there will help.

Ringling in Sarasota Florida is arguably one of the best animation schools in the entire western hemisphere. Very few can even hold a candle to it. Check out ze Ringling thread :P
