i am in the process of producing a grade 12 art practical and have worked out a rough idea of what i want the final product to look like.
that being said, i want to use a certain technique to render my focal point, being that of a small girl, representing innocence. years ago i saw a television program wherein these artists and their work were featured. the basic look has always stuck in my mind, but i need to know the name and find sources from which i can gain inspiration, so if anyone knows what im on about and can point me in the right direction that'd be great!
this particular art form focusses on the eyes. no matter what the subject, if it has eyes, they are very large in proportion to the rest of the face, often sunken with large iris' (the coloured part? :S) and pupils. from memory the majority of works were rendered in charcoal or some other black medium, often coming off as quite beautiful and innocent, whilst also being quite dark and moody.
