A few of the concept artist/art director types at Rockstar San Diego got together to do some extra-curricular design exercises based on some passages from different sci fi books. Let me know what you guys think.

did you guys sit around computers and do them together? could you summarize what was said/written that resulted in these pieces? Kick Ass work man keep posting!!!!!!!!!------ty

your project sounds an awfully lot like my homework assignment from the last few weeks. did scott put you guys up to this ;)
you have a good sense for color and form. i think the bottom one is the most successful in many levels, especially story-telling.

Thanks for the comments!
tyboogie - no, we didn't work together. The idea was to see how many different interpretations of the same text we could get, so we didn't look at each other's stuff until the end.
seb - hehe as a matter of fact this is the same exercise he has you guys do, but Steven Olds had us put a spin on it, which was to combine three elements (environment, transportation, characters) into one image. I think he is supposed to come visit our studio sometime this week. Thx, glad you liked how they came out. How about you? Can you post yours?
loga4 - wow thanks! :D
atmospheria - thank you, I'm glad. I will try to post more, but I have a short attention span when it comes to forums...
mushuhaha - thank you
cos - Thank you - damn dude, your stuff has gotten pretty rock solid lately. I remember giving you a tip or two way back in the day, but I don't think I gots anything to say to you now!

Nice to see you again Sir Francis. Your last piece is amazing, the pallet is beautiful and it tells a wonderful story.
I really think you could add a bit more to the background of the second piece, it feels really hallow and the foreground doesn't coalesce into the background much.
Keep up the good work :)
