Hey all.

This picture was done for/loosely based upon someone very special....

Character design for my personal project. I might knock back some of the saturated colors to better match the rest of the images. Enjoy.

cool peice man!! I like the detail you put into the costume. Her hair falls a little flat due to the limited values and the black outline. Also---can we get a bg? even if its impressionistic or really blurry it would help i think. keep it up!!!!!----ty

i think the saturated areas create a good focal point. Nice job.

This is a really cutr character mate. But yea..the hair is a bit flat for this character. And a background can be nice...but anyways..its realy solid!

I've had so much feedback on this one compared to much of my other work. Some think nose is off, background boring, background good, hair bad, hair good, too detailed, too busy, not too much detail, cool pose, bad pose, to much black lines, not enough black lines.... ...o_O

Not sure what to do. I'll try to come up with some kind of background I think, plus reworking the hair.

Thanks for your input.

Changed the background slightly. After trying several different backgrounds, this is the only thing I can come up with next to black. (Prefer black).
I don't want to paint a whole environment for background, as it would distract from the character.

Any better?

Here's another one I did recently. Overpaint of the model.

I see some influence from Keepers of the Maser on the first pic.

hey, interesting work going on here!! :) hello!

i have an opinion on the first piece, if i may. :) i love the style, the outfit and the general balance. the only point to me is the shadows : so dark that the line art is lost and cannot be seen. if you close half your eyes looking at your pic, you'll see only a black airbrush covering the image.
maybe a weak light coming from the left could draw the missing shapes and lines, what do you think lady? (or mister?? i don't event know!)
about the saturation, i think it is ok like this, less would make the character lose some life i think. colors are so beautiful, keep them!

:)

Thanks all for the crit.

TJ> Yeah, a little "maser" and a little bit of "shirow"...and of course a little bit of "Seung Ho".^^

bengal> I do agree to your opinions in general. However, for this one I had a special idea in mind. The lines are almost disappearing, this is what I wanted to do. If you look at my other work, this is more or less my style..^^

Not sure what you mean by "..you'll see only a black airbrush covering the image."
- Do you mean the image is too dark overall? Not sure if my monitor is ok or not, but all black lines should be more or less visible. At no point are they blending into the (rest of the) other colors.

I'm a guy...not a lady. You wish ^^

Take care

seung>> when i talk about the black airbrush, i don't talk about the lines, which are quite clear, no problem ; no, i just mean the main thing the eye catches overall is th big black airbrush flow you used to do the shadowy parts of the character. you see? :) (sorry i am french, it is hard to find the right words).

nice style anyway. :)

Wow! the second one is Fantastic!

i really like the first one too but it has a fuzzyness to it
that kinda distracts the eye. in my opinion.
