Nice start dude,
As everybody says here you should draw more from life or at least from ref and study anatomy. Practice, practice, practise!
Keep it up!

i have discovered the secret to posting in a sketchbook daily....just scan your older sketches! these are a comparison of how i draw people when i have a subject thats not moving (aka: asleep) and when i draw from moving people.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/chocolatecatgirl/ly.jpg <-- on a bus ride
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/chocolatecatgirl/straightener.jpg<-- straightening hair at theatre rehersal
when i can find stationary objects, they tend to be things like shoes.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/chocolatecatgirl/shoe.jpg <-- i dont like shoes.
any advice? obviously theres magazine collages, which i have a particular fondness for, and paying siblings to sit still, but what else do you guys do?

i prefere doing eprspective studies and other body feature studies...i keep perspectieve in mind when i draw anatomy too ... lotsa work but lotsa fun too
:^^:
u can draw and studie whatever u see.. humans animals treess flowers.. nature.. technical things.. cars trucks toys houses .. other architecture stuff.. furniture...
when drawing bodie.. u can start drawing simple to get a feeling for the dynamic bodie movement and proportions..and then add some details step by step..
u can ask me some stuff about this and how to on msn if u like :)

OMG helpfull comment award!
you revive an all but extinct sb thread by adding absolutely nothing worth adding, thus wasting my time and everyone elses who reads this.
Now, make up for it by actually adding something useful? please.
note to the owner of this sketchbook: show some life in here and i'll comment - that's a promise

that comment was absolutely superfluous!! Imo comments of any sort are always helpful, since it shows that people are actually looking at your work and they're liking it! It brings motivation and happiness in the artists life.. At least thats what i think.
so:
I like them postcards especially the great gatsby one and the katherine hepburn one. The last portrait you did is good as well. Id recommend the usual things though- practice some anatomy do some reference drawings so you can learn more about the human figure. Do some detailed studied of faces too- they seem to be you biggest problem. Get away from that mangaish style.. Learn the real deal first- then abstact it correctly.
thats alll
peace
