* Loosen up, draw with your arm not with your wrist. Make big, confident strokes and your gestures (which are pretty good now) will begin to develop.
* Study anatomy. You know the basics, but you can always improve. Learn bone structure, muscle structure, and how the shadows fall on areas of the body and why. Think about whats underneath.
* Steer away from stylizing. Become great artist, then stylize :)

Very nice start; you are a creative individual and it seems like once you get the basics down you will do amazing (creepy) things :dead: :perv:

Nice work man, lots of creativity flowing, i only have a few crits:

The anatomy, everyone needs, so assume u should be working on it. Do some studies :)
Erm propertions similar to anatomy just come with pratice and studies. Some of ure charcters just seem a little outta proportions here and there.
Your colour pieecs are pretty good but ure plain pencil sketches are a little to scratchy and sketchy. Try to work on making confident clean lines so u know what ure doing. Justhelps clean the drawings up a little.

Nice work though, keep it up.

sideshowbob - thanks!! getting motivated! lol :}

phatandy - iv been meaning to try doing a 'study', but im not entirly sure what one is or how to carry through with one. Confident clean lines, mental note, got it! :D thanks for the feedback :)

study = reading, studying (looking at with a purpose) photo's and drawings and doing lots & lots of drawings with the sole purpose to obtain a better understanding of the subject you're studying.

reading: loomis is good, there's a lot more books of course
looking: is faster than drawing, I usually look at a lot of photo's of people after I studied a certain part of anatomy, to see how visible those structures (bones, muscles, proportions, ...) are in real people, and how they differ for different people.
drawing: I usually do both fast & slow studies ... the slow ones to get it right, the fast ones to fix it in my mind. Also put in some from imagination, as a test to see if I get it, and what to study some more.
These drawings don't have necessarily to look good, although if it looks off, it probably IS off, and if you don't know why, you better put in some more time to figure it out ... if it's smt small that you know you can draw better if you only put in the time, you don't really need to finish it (every time), this time could be better spent on smt else.

Hope that helps.

I don't know ... did you learn from making those ? You'll have to decide.
What did you want to study when making those ?

On the first page:
Working on poses ?
Using actionlines ?
Using the skeleton to build the figure ?
If that was the intention, yes, good study. In case you wanted to work on linequality, no, not a good study (too many scribbly lines for instance)

On the last: a quick fluid female figure, actionsline ? Yes. Skeleton understructure, no.

Don't forget to use books & reference to help you learn new things.

Just my thoughts and just some examples of what you could have been thinking of ... but hope it'll get you into the right direction.

By the way, nice sketchbook, I really like the watercolorpieces, lot of personality in your work. Keep it up.

y0y0 :D looking c00l

when u draw without ref.. do some analysis before.. there are some lines u need to draw and ur result will look good and 3D emediately..

http://www.fragtasia.de/bob/2dstuff/_sketchbook/tut/b1.jpg

http://www.fragtasia.de/bob/2dstuff/_sketchbook/tut/h1.jpg

find these lines - draw ur body simple - pay attention to these lines.. they make ur model look good.. it keeps ur stuff 3D.. these lines create layers and give ur eye the information of depth - its one important thing u need to know.. try to find these lines and draw some easy gestures.. then pay attention to proportions and other musculature details etc..
dont add 2 much details too fast.. its hard to handle them..but no prob when u know a bit about body setup and their proportions

to get a feling for portporions : play around with ur features..
i did that so : face for example : sphere for outline. then i added a much bigger nose and eye and stuff.. then i saw how it feels and how the proportion relationship looks.. then i changed the size and the position of my features.. u can move eye up down or left right.. u can move both to outside or inside.. closer to nose bone and stuff.. same with head on throat with upper body.. or with arms.. play with the porportions .. i made good improvement with this way ..

keep up ya stuff :D ask me whenever u got any questions.. :)

i like ur pencil shading <3

yay ! :D looking c00l man :D

the female back looks really good to me O_o .. do some analysos for the arm-ripcage connection to know how the muscles bend around the bone.. then see how the shoulder muscle flows into the back.. same with front.. thers a part from ur chest muscle which flows around schoulder into bizeps.. start simple :D

ur facing looking c00l too... :^^: take care on the zygomatic bone volume.. its the one below ur eye .. here u see

http://www.bartleby.com/107/Images/small/image164.jpg

when u see face rotated.. the male one... well I cant draw faces too :P

the zygomatic bone forms a bump coming from below the eye .. u got same bump above the eye created by the forhead volume.. u can see the eye is secured by these bones .. the eye ball is inside somekind of pit.. or hole..

http://www.infomotions.com/musings/ola-2002/war-heros-face.jpeg

the outlines.. next to the eye.. its the zygomatic-bump ^^ .. compromise ur shapes.. when u see face from front u get diffrent shapes.. u even cant see the zygomatic-bump.. when u draw it.. draw it simple.. and then adjust ur lines to adjust the result.. .. another good help is browsing "androids self portrait of the day - dont copy but analyse how he created his face.. look for ur layer-creating lines - check the zygomatic bump - have fun

:^^:

yay, studies :).
Don't forget to look into some books, it'll give you pointers on what to look for when you do your own studies from ref/life.

Like, on the heads, some of the eyes are too high up, general rule is, halfway the head. It helps to know these 'ideal' measurements, so you know the 'checkpoints'.

On the first skull, didn't the teeth (& bone they are attached too) jump out forward quite a bit ?

I like the doodle, there must be fun too, right ? :P Your new knowledge will show up in your doodles soon enough ... although for me they are like a few months behind, that's when I don't have to think so hard about it anymore ;).

Keep up the good work !

hey, I didn't realise the middle east location ...
The loomis books you can download for free online & print (or read on the pc), if that would be within the rules of your country (don't want you to get in trouble !).
Here's the site: loomis (http://www.saveloomis.org/)

Keep up the work, last posts are VERY nice ! I especially like that face on the page with the back muscle/bone study (although it's a little flat ... could be the nose?), and the studies themselves !

More ! :)
