First of all, I would like to thank the house of Coro for giving me a lovely death bed flu to take home with me, turned into a pneumonia and killed with after I thought I could beat it on my own. For a total of 6 weeks, from before the gathering to 2 and a half weeks after, sick, sick, sick. A nose is a really good friend when it works...
Now for the meat of it all. Thank you all once again at Massive Black for putting on a great performance once again. Aside from a few setbacks, it really worked out well, and I can only say I wish I gave more. But time wasnt friendly, and I lost my voice, and that sucked...
Now, first, the biggest thank you to Melissa, for doing what no one dares to do...and you did it so well, and while sick, and going through home ownership issues with squatters, And while learning to drive a Suburban all in one swoop. Amazing job you did this time around and thank you for all you did.
Coro, thank you for the other half of all that craziness. WHen all goes wierd, you get things done...thanks for putting up with all us and damn I wish we got to sketch more. I have 3 other books I wanted to show you...in due time.
We have a lot of talking to do...lets roll when you are ready. Did you guys get the place yet? Damn squatters...and give both the dogs a squeeze for me...not over Nox's bed.
Jason...another spectacular event, despite the stuff that was going on all around. This one was heavy, heavy rain, heavy flu, heavy flu, heavy flu...and other interesting events. Despite the interesting flubs, no mic working during color theory, etc. It all worked out really well. I know I went home amped again. Here are the results of my walk into Assael's world. We saw his show, and got me really inspired. Melissa, I have the original for you, and Vanessa is getting the other one framed as soon as I can get over to frame it...

Jason, we have a lot to discuss, I have a hellish midweek schedule with school, the rest is less hectic...
Marko-one of the nicest people I have ever met. I am so glad to finally have time to hang out this go around. I am really inspired by you you know. Not just your drawing, but your jackets, and your glasses, and...heh...really, you have a great outlook on your own work as well as your growth as an artist. You are straight up honest and I like that in people. I wish I could actually drink so I could even half step with you, but I have no stomach for it and would fall over dead with one of your Vodkas...heh. I hope you got to leave Florida in Style...I know you remember that conversation. And I cant wait to hang out again. Hopefully sooner than not.
Jonathan Foster-you really selfless, underrated(by you) generous, kind, human, witty and very enlightening person. I cant believe the amount of humble you exude...too much for your own good, but I am glad to see you that way and not nose high in the sky and such. I am really glad for the times you Vanessa and I had to share. I hope your dog(s) are doing well, and your wife, and thanks for the great images in the National Geographic issues. Damn good stuff. GO over to the sketchbook section, I have those camels posted I was mentioning...peculiar, yours are by far better handled, interesting how close they look to each other...heh. You rule Jon.
Rich, you crazy mo-fo...I had a blast. I hope things are treating you well and your moving up in the city...You had wicked wrist action in the drawing bullpin, I wish I had a chance to jam with ya. Next time right?
Nox-thanks for the inspiration. I hope I can post something soon that was heavily inspired by your work recently viewed at Coros...your work is incredible, and anything I can do to get you out of feeling like its too 50's, I will be glad to be of any help I can. Hope you are enjoying the city and Coros dogs are treating you better these days...heh
HPX-I am yet again in awe with your work, your speed and design eye. I am also walking away heavily inspired by you and the stuff I got to see you work on. It was a liberating way to watch someone work as carefree as you were. I cant wait to do some work together...hint...heh
Wes-if you get any better you will have to quit. After level 60, to ebay we go to sell off your hands...really. You have improved immensely, and only for the better. I have to say that it is this circle of people that have done nothing but inspire me and my new works, and I only hope that it shows...thanks for the time in SF. I had a great time talking with you, now next time we talk with pencils...take care and good luck with the paintings...oh, and congrats on the place. I hope its as inspiring as Coros.
JP...dude, we are neighbors now, no excuses. Now I am not sick, and cant get you sick either, we need to hang. As soon as you can. THank you for letting me ruin your awesome piece, I only hope I can do it better on another one. THanks for all the inspiring talks, the inspiration and positive outlook you have on everything. It really means something. ANd thanks for letting me steal some of your secrets, I think they rubbed off from the brushes we used...heh
Andrew-thanks for the flu. Thank you sooooo much sir...heh, but really, thanks for the event, the models, the party, the party favors, and the time you spent getting all this together. IT takes a lot and you are doing something never done before. Pioneering a great thing. Thank you for letting Vanessa and I be a part of the community efforts at these events.
Michael Hussar- you are an awesome painter and a great person. I am really glad we had time to get coffees...heh Cant wait to paint with you again. Thanks for coming and being a great inspiration to me and everyone else.
Justin-thanks for the images, and thanks for showing off for us all. It's fun watching you work regardless of what you think. Its all about inspiration, thanks for inspiring me.
Steven Assael-thanks for opening my eyes. I have not seen so well, and now I feel like I see clearly what it is I have to do. You and your slide show, as well as the show in LA have been a great inspiration to me and I am really really glad to have spent the time talking. THank you for the invitation, we will definitely take you up on it. ANd thanks again for all the inspiration and eye opening I had. It really is fun to see that there are more and more plataeus(SP) to hit, and you have mastered most all of them...
Kevin, thanks for the time, and the inspiring lecture/slide show. IT was fun painting with you and I hope we can do it again some time.
Shaun Barber-an amazing artist, gifted, and nice as can be. Thanks for being a great person, and inspiring taboot. I am sorry we didnt get to paint/collab...next time, maybe via email or snail mail. I really want to do that piece. It was awesome to finally get to meet you, in such good company to say the least.
Petey-I have to say, next to Milligan, you are one of the funniest, and always on, not to mention one of the sickest all around artists I have ever met. I am so glad to finally have had a chance to hang, and get driven around in your German Race machine. Thanks for all the good advice, and thanks for seeing both sides of the coin. I hope one day I can paint something worthy of trade with one of your fantastic masterpieces...teach me the ways...heh. Thanks again for everything Pete.
James Kei-finally got to hang. Next time, it will be with paint and canvas. You are a great inspiration and I hope that we get a chance to do some work together...I hope I can see those pics in person sometime...
Frank Cho and Brandon Peterson, you two are awesome. Thanks for coming, and I hope we all get to work together some time...it would be a great honor...thanks for all the inspiring words and advice...I am going to take it all to heart.
Tomoscopic-I am truly sorry I was sick while you were here, and only getting worse. I will make it up to you and I promise, we will eat at a restaurant with no coughing, sneezing, aching, or drowsing...heh...I hope you made it home safe and I hope you are moving forward in your work...finding inspiration and time to get more done...
Thank you Travis and all the rest of the event men. It was crazy, and it worked. What can I say...thanks again.
And thank you all for attending. I wish I could have provided more, next time I will. I hope to see you all again, hopefully in Prague...I know I missed someone, I am sorry if I did...oh by the way, did any of my charcoals ever turn up? I never got any pics of any of my work...heh
