Hey to all CA.org! Okay, I really dig everyones daily sketches.. So I decided to start a progress thread of my own.

I'm not fantastic or anything.. but at 22, I've been trying to draw since I can remember. Over the last few years I've leaned so heavily on digital art I fear I'll loose my grip on why I started in the first place... Fantasy art is what I love, and aspire to be great at... but that only comes with practice... and gods know I need a lot of it.

I'm going to do my best at posting every day, hopfully getting a little more advanced with each post. I could go on forever on what I need to improve... And the questions I want to ask could go on even longer.. but that will come with time.

I'm starting with basics.. just knocking some rust off, so if you dont like the building blocks.. look elsewhere please :)

Like I said, VERY basic... I need a better grasp on light/shadow/form

Any & all input would be awesome!!! I know this isnt much, but I plan on posting more very soon!

Congrats on starting a sketchbook! You definitly have potential, it's great to see that you are starting out with the basics. It's very important to master the basics before moving on to more complicated subjects. Just remember to go from general to specific. In other words, start out with simple forms and then gradually make them more complexed. Hope to see more from you!

good start

work on your basics for now, save shading for later maybe

when rendering try to shade more, and smudge less. it will make your drawings more intresting.
