I think its really wonderfull, the composition content and colors are amazing, as far as critique, some of the perspective between the table the window and the little machine on the table could be more accurate, also there are alot of soft edges and some sharper marks around the focal area would add to the composition, I love the bot in the window , it would be cool if the spot light he is shining in could highlight the silouete of the investigator. but overall it reads as a fantastic illustration, great work

Amazing stuff.

-If this painting had been divided into nine equally large pieces, I would have been extatically pleased if I had been able to make only one of them. If you know what I'm trying to say.

Every part of it rocks.

Really nice piece. I love the atmosphere you gave it. I too can smell the smoke.

With his indiana jonesque hat there on the table. It looks llike he just got back from some archealogical dig and found this interesting gun. An Indiana Jones adventure of the future! :)

Fozzybar : Yeah , talking about robots, I actually cannot say I'm not influenced by Sparth's bots.
he's one of the best for this stuff...

I was looking for rendering a sort of old tripod robot or machine in an Orson Welles spirit but due to the composition, I was obliged to keep it in a blur

Andrew : I saw now a lot of little things that could have been ameliorated... i agree for the perspective but damn, it's too late, the piece is gone for print !! :)
Jon told me, for another piece that i was using too much smooth edges. maybe I had to put more sharpen edges and shapes to add dynamic in my next works. Good thing to have in mind ! Thanks !

Iwasink : I would have prefer to render a hat more like those in Darkcity but there is effectively a kind of indianajones look

Ron : effectively, my illustration is related to a french game called RetroFutur, brilliantly illustrated by Benjamin "Ornicar" Carré. People that doing the magazine for which I made this cover are also involved in this game.
It's an uchrony inspired by David Cronenberg, Brazil, P.K Dick, Blade Runner...

Lono : Crits from you are always welcome and very useful !!!

Mort : my website is coming, i need it very soon.
just give me a little month. i'll begin with a rough version, no time now to work correctly on it

ThankU ivribody !!!

aleksi check your PM's

the guys face is the area that gets me each time....the rest though is very strong. the head needs more work.

I dont mean more rendering necessarily...i mean adjusting of proportion and then perhaps just a bit more rendering. it doesnt have to be real...thats not what i mean....but it does need to have as much care put into it as the rest of the image.

a hint of fill light or dark accents to clarify a bit of the shadowed part of the head would strengthen the forms.

thats my two cents.

Aleski, nice work dude,

I wonder what it would look like if you, just very subtly, silhouetted the top of the guys hair with the same bright bluish-green tones as the light coming from the outside window. You could hint some cool shapes to the hair. Maybe the hair has shapes that lead your eyes to the gun in his hands. The picture is great, I just had an idea and thought I should mention it.

Aleski, haha! dude, I realized that you said to Andrew that your piece had gone to print-right after I posted. I should have read all of the replies thoroughly first before I said anything. I'm a NOOB here dude :p
