I need some advice on how to finish this piece. I want it to have the feel of a turn-of-the-century portrait. Sort of a John Singer-Sargent thing. I think I should re-work the face too...

This metallic arm somehow doesn't match to the style of the rest...also the focus is on this arm, but i don't know if this is a good idea, unless it wasn't your intention...oh, nearly forgot, yes, you achieved the style of this age...well done!

Yes, I will tone down the arm, but does the face seem natural enough to you? This is the first piece I did to try out my new Wacom tablet (my home one, I've been using one at work for about a year and a half.) So it was really just for practise. It bugs me enough that I want to fix it up though, and maybe use it for my portfolio. Thanks for the comment.

Now, what do you mean with natural... i mean it doesn't look natural as rembrandt's or rubens' paintings but you can assign your style to the age you were going for...

This is the first painting I've done without any outline, so it's been a bit of a struggle. I'm not going for photo-realism obviously, but it still has a way to go before it looks believable. I didn't use any face as a model, maybe that would help...

There. I think I addressed most of the issues. I'm still not real happy with the face, but I think I'd rather just start over than fool with this one anymore. Thanks for the input, Fozzybar!
