There are some dvds on Gnomon about cars. I don't have the Harald Belker ones, but I have a Scott Robertson one and on the link below you can read what they cover. There's more there about vehicles but more about space ships and rendering. Just go to http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/ and click the tab analog and then the vehicles section. The dvds are exspensive but if you are in high school(maybe collage too?) or you know someone who is you can get a educational discount. I actually just watched that overhauling show that chip guy is pretty awesome.

Other than that I really don't know about other books or dvds, so I'm interested in hearing more from others too.

The most common how-to book you can find is How to Draw Cars Like a Pro which is a pretty decent book. Recently Scott Robertson put out a really nice book called How to Draw Cars the Hot Wheel Way, which at first might seem a little childish, but aside from some of the exaggeration on some of the cars, this book in my opinion is more informative than the other. Both are well worth the cover prices. You can also find the occasional automotive book that includes some of the concept art. I personally would love to get some of the folks who have ID backgrounds to give some tutorials for us poor schmos who didn't get/have the chance to do classes like that.

The Thom Taylor bokk above is good. For rendering (if your not good at it/want more info) for transport/product's get a book called "Presentation Techniques- a guide to drawing and presenting design idea's" by Dick Powell. Good book.

Also look at http://www.cardesignnews.com/

I've seen part of the first one Harald Belker did. I really enjoyed it and am now saving up to buy it and the other ones he made. I'm not sure about Scott Robertson's videos as I haven't seen them, but if they are as informative as his website or the hotwheels book, they'll be definite purchases too when money is available.

On the Scott Robertson car dvd he doesn't really talk about building the car so much, he talks about that stuff on the other dvds. The car one is more about the wheels and how to make them turn and how to make attach to the body of the car. So I would say if you got the Hareld Balker ones and the Robertson car dvd it would probably cover most of the information. Also the How to Draw Cars the Hot Wheel Way book rothgar mentioned I totally forgot about that one. Scott also has another car book thats on http://designstudiopress.com that I'm sure is just as good, it's in the book section of the site.

here is pic of it.

I think I remember him say though that it covers mostly what he says on the dvds and I kinda like watching someone doing it that reading it, but I'm sure it's still really helpful book. There is preview pages there so you can check it out.
