Nice piece. Good pose, good expression.

I kind of want to see more line-width variation, or some darker areas to make him pop. It seems like you are too afraid to put in really dark areas, but I think it would be helpful for his shadow and under his arms.

Plus, the candleabra behind him is a little distracting. Perhaps extendingthe wings on his hat to overlap the candlabra and make it recede, although if you put darker areas in his figure it would probably take care of it also.
