I did this painting for NZXT gaming case. www.nzxt.com. This was done last year and finally decided to post. It was a huge piece and I cropped it (to only area that I liked). I used Max, PS and Painter. C&C are welcome.

omg wicked, like the "it all looks like glass" in the background :)
Can you tell me, why you did that? just for esthetix reasons, or ar the people in the background ghosts,...?

Very beautiful and impressing, congratulation!
Perfect the way you draw the attension towards the centre of the picture where you show perfect details and great use of light. Amazing colors!
Those hands on your knight are just to good, love them!
Some small stuff:
The atmosphere on the moon could maybe be less homogene on the dark side and it is on top of the spears?
The letter “N” on the flag, maybe just make it a flag with no letter as it colide a bit with the fantastic axe imho.
The right foot, would love to see that as well, is it sunk down in the ground?
The light halo on the shaft of the sword could bulge a bit over every string of leather to add readability?
The fur on the shoulder could be more “furish”?
But again there is nothing wrong with this masterpiece, think your custumer must be very happy!

Bitchin'! I'd add that the hanging hook is too dead-still and vertical- it needs some motion! Also, while the axe is beautiful, it's also very diagrammatic- like a design element rather than a three-dimensional object. A little rotation goes a long way. Pretty awesome painting all around- cheers!

Absolutely gorgeous. I love the mood of this piece.
Any way someone can talk you into showing how you did this? I'd love to learn how to apply some 'puter paints to one of my own images:

as that's the kind of mood I was thinking of when I drew that.
(Oh, and my axe is bigger than yours...) ;)

Ed, nice work man. I don't get to see your stuff like I used too :( So it's nice to see you post here. You should show some of the GW stuff if you're allowed. Great work.

it's an incredible image. the only thing that bothers me is the two repeating soldiers in the background - but it's not a big deal though, it's still a great image.

I'm finally replying as I have been in Germany for the last 3 weeks. The town I was in......can you say Band of Brothers?....it hasn't changed much since WWII except for fashion and cars. Yikes.....
Anyway, thanks to all those who have replied who gave me some good crits and compliments.
Here's a hi-rez version if anybody cares.

The version is not the final, final....I have since touched up the painting, especially the moon and the foreground lava area.

O my God, that is incredible. It is amazingly detailed. The high rez is awesome, but I am not a fan of his eyes. They are really noticeable in the highrez, and I found I was staring at them, because they are kinda small IMO so for that reason, I think, he looks really scared or geeky or sumthin. I don't think that fits with his badassedness.
