:nohope:

Have any of you received this dreaded message in the middle of a job?

If not, a window pops up and states "Script10: Out of data map entries!"
I beleive I had this message pop up when I was on Painter 8 and to resolve it I trashed the script data file before opening up Painter.
I guess I'll try doing this again now that I'm on Painter 9. Just wondering if anyone knows why this happens. Does a script literally become corrupted?
Why? I rarely use scripts at all (however I do realize the importance and function they have).
Oh yeah, I was wondering where the pre-built brush file has gone in Painter 9? For the life of me, I can't seem to find it anywhere in the Painter 9 folder.
(FYI, I'm using a G5, and running Panther)
Any insight or info would be appreciated!

Hi,

Painter automatically records a script for each Painter session and they're saved up to 10 days, depending on the number you set in Edit > Preferences > General.

If you don't want them saved, lower the number to the minimum 1 day since they take up memory and hard drive space.

Delete the Scripts file before launching Painter and you'll start with a nice empty scripts library.

Painter IX provides multi-user support so the application folders and files are read only and user settings are written to the User folder. You'll find the location in:

Painter IX Help > Help Topics > Contents tab > A Workspace Tour

On the right panel, click Brush Libraries.

On the next page, scroll down to the section named "Restoring the default Corel Painter settings".

You should know, however, that the Painter IX Pre-built Brush File has a maximum file size limit of 200 MB and the idea is that you don't need to delete it like we did in earlier Painter versions. When it hits that limit, it jumps back to a smaller size. I haven't figured out the pattern yet but it won't go over 200 MB at least, so that's some improvement.

If you want to delete it anyway, there's no harm done but it's a nuisance you might not need to deal with anymore.

Thanks a lot Jinny!!!

I finally found the pre-built brush file deep within the sub-section of my system. However it wasn't located in the Painter 9 folder (as it was in previous versions).
I will go to the preference section and lower the number of days for the scripts.

Cheers!
