Hey guys, I was wondering if Painter 7 supports the use of dual processors? I've been working my ass off the last few weeks to get some extra money saved up to replace my old clunker of a computer and I was looking at a dual processor rig as an idea to toss around. I tried finding the answer on Proceate's site, but I couldn't find any information on it. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi BlackHawk,
As far as I am aware, Painter 7 does not utilise dual processors, so you may be better off going for the fastest single processor you can afford. On the other hand, I understand that Photoshop does utilise dual processors, so you may be happier with a dual if you are using PS a lot as well as Painter.
The best place to search for this kind of info. is the corel.graphic_apps.painter newsgroup. If you configure the news account in your e-mail application to one of the following servers and then update the newsgroup list you can subscribe free to the above newsgroup;
'cnews.corel.ca' or 'cnews.corel.com'
This is a 'self help' group, but Corel staff do read the messages posted and occasionaly reply as well.

Sandman, thanks a bunch for the info, I'll go check out those newsgroups. I use Photoshop a bit for image manipulation, but I don't use it much for digital painting, so I may go ahead and check out faster single processor solutions. Take it easy.
