some stuffs (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/579/579545p1.html?fromint=1)

Arthur Dent = Played by Mos Def :S
I haven't been able to link the director Garth Jennings to anything... Think he's a newcomer???
It's apparently based on an old script partly written by Douglas Adams...

On a side note, I picked up the book and started reading it recently to sketch from....
Maybe I've had my fill of dry 70's British wit or maybe I lack any appreciation of humor what-so-ever .... 'cause I'm not really enjoying the book that much...
I thought it would be more of a funny mockumentary sci-fi encyclopedia, and not a story filled with shenanigans....

Oh well, I'll give it another read-through and see what it is I'm missing about this classic...

Wow. I always pictured Marvin as a full-size robot with a sort of gaunt, skeletal structure and a kind of thin, sad face. I imagine that other people did too. But this... whoa, this could actually work. I mean, this could be an awesome design for Marvin if they do it right. As I imagine Marvin's lines being spoken by that machine in his low, depressed voice, they become even more comical.

This looks to be a good egg if they can pull it off. Hollywood has a pretty good recent track record of adaptations to my mind. Let's hope the spell doesn't break for The Increasingly Inaccurately Named Hitchhiker's Trilogy.

Hm... Did you like Monty Python and the Holy Grail, or any of their other movies, or any of Flying Circus? Adams used to write for them, so If you didn't like that style of humor, the book may not "click" for you. If you do like Monty Python and the book still isn't funny, see if you can possibly get your hands on the tape recording of the first book, the unabridged one that's read by Adams himself. I liked reading the book anyway, but it was funnier when Adams read it, and parts that weren't funnyin the book were funny on tape.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail[/i], or any of their other movies, or any of Flying Circus?

yea... naturally I loved those, and when I found that Adams wrote 2 MPFC episodes I gained a better appreciation for the book...

My girlfriend's got the AudioBook CD's and I'll give those a try, always nice to have a book read to you from the author :dur:

Man, They had better fo it justice. I'm rather unsure about marvin's desighn, but that perticular voice could just compensate....If they screw this up, I'm suing disney.
