i heard many people got sick after returning from the workshop.
in my case that's true. when i got up the morning after the workshop(home again) i had 38 ° feever and a bad cough.
i think i'll either blame it on the air conditioning on the plane, the rain in sf or android. :perv:
anyone else feeling abit down?

I got it... I have it now actually.
it's what I get for licking everyone's sketchbooks though.

Muaaahahahahahah, I talked myself hoarse, but I didn't get sick. High immune system I guess, cause it was a close one, I could feel it almost get to me.
I figured after all these years of talking so much and so loud, my vocal chords could withstand a stustained 6 day blast, but unfortuneately they failed me the last night. My coworkers say it was a present from God, but its all better now. I told them I will just have to practice more, louder and longer, so I will be all trained up for next time. 8-)

I got sick before the workshop, so I was recovering all during it. As such, I had brought a whole baggy full of vitamins and was downing them at every oppourtunity. I started feeling bad the second day after getting rained on so I made sure to get extra sleep. Towards the end I was even handing my extra vitamins out to people who were starting to feel bad. So, fortunately, I didn't get it!
Saw Ron Lemen last night though and he says he got it. :(

I'm running on DayQuill at work, NyQuill at night, and downing halls cough drops like they're candy.

January 14th, 2005, 11:28 AM
I'm downing Nyquil as well, but that's because I'm too cheap to buy bourbon :dur:

I managed to stay healthy throughout the whole workshop (I don't count food poisoning as true illness) but lo and behold, this morning I woke up with a sore throat and who knows what else as the day progresses. Getting soaked up to your knees on a daily basis without a jacket or umbrella will do that to ya.

I think you could very well be onto something... but understand that my declaration of my love for nerds doesn't mean I exclude myself from said group of people... although, I think I'm more on the side of dork rather than nerd. Maybe a little geek in there for flavor.
Glad to see you're feeling better at least. :)

I currently cant talk, I got sick on wednesday, stayed in bed all day yesterday, and am finally moving around today. It must have been all the rain, sitting in the freezing downstairs, and shaking so many hands. I thought I was the only one....

Oh, man. We came from all over the world to share germs with each other. :)
I'm not sick as of yet, but it doesn't mean I won't be.
Hope you all start feeling better,

Yeah, taking 2 flights while under the influence of a nasty cold is no fun at all... pressure changes on the way home almost killed me. Fortunately I wasn't actually ill during the workshop, it all just kinda hit me the day after it all finished.
I guess this happens at pretty much any convention... someone's gonna be contagious!

Somehow I didn't get sick, although I almost drowned 3 times while going to lunch and back in all that rain.
I think today I have finally caught up on my sleep and am no longer a walking zombie.
Yesterday I was fighting to stay awake for Ron's head quicksketch class. I didn't think that was possible...
hahah that workshop kicked our asses! :gasmask:
I hope all of you get well fast.

I got sick in San Fran and was unable to teach my first classes back in Seattle. Hope my subs did ok. Feeling better now.
Hey, Steph, sorry to hear you got sick after having food poisoning! Hope Jen was able to fly home and recup. She looked pretty bad when I flew out.

Yikes. Well I guess it's of some consolation I'm not the only one who's really sick. Managed to suck it up and actually go to work today, but the past 2 days I've barely gotten out of bed.

I got hit with a sore throat on Wednesday, a runny nose on Thursday, and now I'm pretty sure I'll be coughing and spluttering into the weekend. My boss made me go home early from work yesterday before I spread the "California Funk" around to other employees.
I feel for anyone who has to fly while sick though. Just don't do what I did and use the blankets on the plane. I'm sure that can't help. :nohope:

I got sick before the workshop, so I was recovering all during it.
Ditto. Hey, maybe one of us caused Thunderdome Syndrome!
Or maybe it was all a plot by the Massive Black guys to gather the world's greatest artists in one place and take out the competition in one fell swoop with a supervirus! Unfortunately they failed to take into account our heightened immunities from the copious amounts of caffeine in our systems. Another scheme foiled!

Oh yeah, huh! I don't think anyone in our room got sick. *phew*
Still...I feel for everyone else. Sounds like this thing is super nasty. Really sucks that everyone had to end the workshop like that. (Or in some cases endure part of the workshop sick.) :(

Im guessing you guys didn`t consume enough alcohol. Alcohol kill germs! Exept Marko, he seems to be a quite resilient specimen. But then again, he`s germAN, and i guess there`s a difference.
Oh my! I`m being silly again. Another side effect of alcohol..
