Hi.
Finished this piece. Had some trouble with the "breath" but i settled with the sylised look rather then the photorealistc one. ALTHOUGH I couldnt possible have executed the later...;)

Imho you should polish that background (add some color perhaps, and increasing contrast effect?), it makes the painting "poorly seductive" from my viewpoint. I see some little issues regarding lighting also, but that background eclipses any other issue :S
(this comment sounds so "pedantic" coming from a guy like me... forgive me :p )
Keep it up.

I would agree about the background.. especially the moon. The mountains don't bother me as much (although giving them more detailc ertinly couldn't hurt) but the moon looks very unfinished. I also think i liked it better without the wyverns flying out of the crack in the mountain. You've done a good job on them but I don't think this piece needed them (although I don't feel think they ruin the picture by any means). I really liked the breath from the guy you had in the WIP section and I think you sacrificed some of the effect in order to make room for the wyverns (dragons?) It just occured to me.. would the lizard on the ground have it's breath showing too? It also occured to me too that it is probably a cold blooded animal and would be getting ready to hibernate (I'm joking :D.. could be warm blooded. Like the dinosaurs supposedly were)
This is a very nice piece.. but I was hoping for a little color too. Even some very cool night time colors would be nice. Some blues and maybe yellows/golds?
All in all though, thumbs up!

You have a nice image going on here! I would advise working on it more, developing it further. Paint/detail the background in such a way as to make all the forms read a little better. If you decide to color it, a warmcolored foreground could help separate it from a cool colored background, even if the background ends up brighter as it is here.
It has a nighttime look, like the mountains are illuminated by the moon. Perhaps not the moon in that view though, maybe there's another.
Some other points I like are the holes and tearing in the cape. The rocks on the ground - that's a nice textured look going there. The font/print on the satchel(sp?) is good.

Woa, you guys are great. The reason i took it to the finish shelf is that it had taken to much time. I have laid like 16 hours on it and my mind goes boom after that time....;)... I dont like hanging with pieces either so that was the reason.
GREAT critics, I have read everything 5 times and ill try to make the changes HOWEVER i think i will continue this thread on the wip section so I dont get flamed...;)...
about the background. Well i wantd it like that. Supersimple and flat. HOWEVER it may not have turned out like it should have but thats all my apprentice art eyes could whip togehter.
the moon. Is not in eclipse...;).. Its covered by clouds.
about color. HMMM I really would like to do color but im color blind or something. I can never get the desired result i want with colors. It just ends up like ... plueh... if you know what I mean. I really need to take oil lessons or something to do that. Havent got the faintest on how to build up your image with colors.
Ill post back when I have updated it, i have some images to do in beetween here so in a couple of days its shure to be updated if not later today...;)...
THANKS AGAIN!!!! Really appreciate it!... And this is what I would want to do with you guys if chance was given...

great foreground man i really like how you added that lizard...it adds to the surroundings. tose mountains could use some detail though but people have already told you that.
