by far some of the best visuals this generation to date, and certainly the best art-direction the RE series has ever had....

and yes, I still went into playing it with my mind wired for the older games in the series.... That quickly had to change when I was rushed by 15+ villagers and had nothing loaded but a grenade.

yes indeed, this is the first RE I've been happy with (Outbreak was fun, but not a full RE game) ...

And also this is the first game in the series where you'll actually get swarmed in a house and have to defend against hundreds of zombies.. Kicking down ladders, pushing book cases in front of doors, etc...

incindiary grenades are fun against crowds :rendered:

Aww man. This game is so badass. I'm about two and half hours into it, and stuck at the stupid troll boss. He's a bitch. That aside:teeth: this game is not only incrdible looking, but damn fun as well. Hehe, right on with what you said Sammy about getting surrounded by villagers. This game's a blast. Wish work was over so I could go home and kick some troll ass. :teeth:

keep pluggin' all you got into the Troll, and if you go in the sheds to get bullets be prepaired 'cause he'll take 'em down with a swinging tree (some context-sensetive buttons should come up for you to duck) ...

after a bit *spoiler?* that dog you saved from the beginning of the game should come help you ... he offers a distraction so run near him and take advantage of the Troll's short attention-span...

Once you've busted him up enough start shooting at the :tihi: thing :x that pops out of his back :blah: *classic*

I actually got carded for it when I went to buy it... I'm 22 and couldn't pass for 17?! >_< But besides that, yea, I played for awhile... had to kill some crazy chainsaw guy in a creepy house.

I'm not even a real horror game fan... this game is just amazing. I could even say it's the best gamecube game period. Definitely the best 3rd person shooter mechanics I've ever seen. I hope the story plays out as good as the graphics, mechanics, and sound.

Oh yea, the bossfights in this game... absolutely brilliant. I won't give any spoilers.. but at the end of chapter 1, that was the most hectic and frantic bossfight I can remember in recent history. That troll was nuts too. I'm afraid to see what's next.

I'm on disc 2 of the game right now, I'm taking my time to explore every part of the game. It's absolutely. Definately one of, if not the very best game this console generation, in my opinion. And that's hard to do, when you have games like MGS3 with "The End" boss fight. I've been playing the Resident Evil series since it first started, but turned my love over to Silent Hill. Silent Hill 2 was in my opinion the best survival horror game, on par with last year's Fatal Frame 2. But RE4 has just won me over... If you want to count this game as survival horror, it could be just an action game that happens to be the most frightening game experience I've had. All in all this game is great, I'm really nitpicky about games, but I'm struggling to find a single thing wrong with this.

MAN! this is SUCH a great game. It's nice to see the gameplay evolve into something great. Finally you don't feel helpless against the enemies but, it can still get damn freaky.

After playing this version with such wwell adapted gameplay I don't think I could ever go back and play the others. Btw I really like the 1st and 2nd. The Remake was dope.

Oh yeah and the GRAPHICS! They have some damn great Texture Artists! It's not that just each or single textures here and there are great but, the environments are just so well Textured and Properly Proportioned that it really puts your into the game/world.

Also would like to say if you didn't like the "you need the weird ass key on the otherside of the mansion" type gameplay from the other RE's

they've really streamlined those elements so you'll always find what you need close by.

i have to say this is probably the best example that not all games need to be freeroaming to be good. The series of events really pushes you on a straight and forward path and it never once gets old.

Man, this game is pretty sweet. I love how they have such a limited set of textures and models, but they really go to the extreme with them. And it makes for a consistent art direction and mood.

damn... i just beat that huge guy ("the big cheese" ^-^) that was some scary shit, no game has ever made me pannic like that! especially the second half, drove me to the point where i was crying for my mummy ^-^

man, this game is fucking ace!!

only thing is im playing on normal, rather than easy, and i keep finding myself low on ammo and health, though i try my best to conserve ammo... and i've saved like 30 times allready!! im such a wimp ^-^

then i had a go at the ada mission and did it, then the merc ones. really hard though. i've maneged to get just one star on the village level ^-^


been playing non stop for two days, so hopefully once i take a day or two break (i need to do some drawings in my sketchbook ^-^), i'll be bothered to play again. whats the difference between choosing "load" and loading the file (so you can have all your weapons from the start) and choosing "new game" (say, proffessional) which one should i do to get more costumes and stuff?

i played normal twice, you keep all your old items so it's much faster and easier.
after beating it the second time i now have the infinty ammo chicago typewriter, and the infinty missile launcher.

i had to sell all my weapons to get my hands on those 2 guns, so i think i have some crap handgun and the assault riffle(not maxed)

but i felt it was too easy, so i started the hard mode..and OMG it's hard...
the gameplay isn't changed too much but everything seems faster and hits harder, and you know the button smashing parts in the cut scenes? yeah....their twice as hard... i'm not really enjoying that factor, my fingers must be retarded because i have so much trouble tapping fast enough.

Finished it too. Amazing game indeed, great rhythm, great visuals, great coding, improvable gameplay perhaps, but...
I missed a better story, It was almost as I expected, and I'm very disappointed, it is the only thing they didn't improve regarding all RE titles... It is the same <insert your favourite pejorative here> as always... Perhaps is something intentional... Perhaps RE series doesn't need a serious/complex story at all...? :dad:

Anyway, it was worth playing. :}

im not too far into the game, i'm at like.. chapter 1.3? but im way too in love with it that i felt the need to post in this thread. i haven't played any RE before this, i'd watched them being played a bit but wasnt that sold on it.. but sweet mother of christ.. it makes me want to buy a game cube.

i like the new gameplay, it's simple and the most you have to do usually is hit A.. but they also try to trick you during intense moments..i love the psychological aspects (which i guess is standard in horror/re). and wow..the textures.. all the little details just mezmerised me.. and just watching the end of his jacket move in the wind, or all his layers of hair that are moved in real time, being able to interact MID cut scene?! getting your head torn off by a chain saw..finding out that the enemies are saying shit like "im gonna rape you!" haha, i dont know, i can't even list all the cool shit in re4.. i played till 3 am and i think im too tired to even make a solid argument for it, but i guess it doesnt matter or really need one. i just know i am in love with the game, and i want to have sex with leon almost as much as i do want Snake.

Resident evil 4.... Was EPIC me and some friends were all playing it... and it was fun as hell.... Its fun to just shoot things even. I like how they put a third person perspective on the camera this time. This is the game I always point out when people say gamecube sucks lol
