Hey guys, I wanted to thank everyone for an incredible weekend! Jason and the Massive Black crew, all the amazing instructors and all the really cool people who I got a chance to meet. I learned so much, it's gonna take a while to digest everything. That was one excellent workshop!

I'm an idiot - I left my camera at home and then I got so excited I remembered that it might be a good idea to take pictures only on the second day. But there were a lot of people taking pictures at the demos, so we should ask them to post some.

Yeah, thanks to the MB crew and all the volunteers for putting together another great oppourtunity to expand our artistic knowledge and get togtether with a huge crew of like minded people.
I especially enjoyed seeing all the people I met in Austin again, meeting a bunch of new people who, until now, had only been avatars, pictures and names in IRC, especially all you crazy Euro gang who I'd probably never get a chance to meet otherwise. And I would like to state that CA has, hands down, the most talented and beautiful ladies in all the art world. I'm glad I at least got to meet a handful of you. :bashful: <3
I'm pumped to get my draw back on and kick myself in the ass to get back on the wagon and make some progress. And I'm looking forward to seeing the glut of art that I know everyone will be producing in the wake of this event.
See you all online! (Although I wish we were all closer!) :yayca:

Hi all - it will take me few more days until i get to my far far far home in Romania.
But i can't wait till then.
I have to thank EVERYONE for being there.
I'd like to thank all the instructors, sponsors and volunteers. Without your help we'd have no workshop - it everything to me.
(it's funny how i was always seeking help from familiar faces - who obviously were the ones of the awsome people helping since austin or so - thank you again everyone)
Also BIG thanks to everyone who got down and listed to my crap - we had some fun - i hope you've got the ideea behind my crapy english and the lack of structure.
Thank you all for being so nice to me - i've met so lovely people it will be painfull missing you for a long time now. It was great however seing the old friends of other workshops.
I'd like to thank also to Dan Milligan and Sparth and everyone else who couldn't come but who i'm sure were so willing to come and had thought about all of us those days.
I'm sorry for the rain (all my magic didn't work on that - i couln't plug my mana processing device into US power sockets) and i'm sorry for getting sick to the end - that might have turned into a more grumpy Oblio - my appologies.
It's odd how the flue got us in SF like the Heat got us in Austin. There always seems to be something right on time for the workshops :(
I hope to see you soem other times.
Now it's time to start missing you more and more.
Oblio (Andrei Fantana)
P.S. - No morrr sake forrr me! :bashful:

i really want to thank melissa and coro for being so wonderfully helpful. the workshop wouldnt have worked out had they not put in so much effort and hard work.
mucho thanks to all the instructors for doing more than i could have hoped.
and an even bigger thanks to all the students who put up with all the sickly instructors who braved the rain instead of staying in bed. you were all patient and so nice. it was really a great time. We will definitely do another one of these someday.

I would like to say that this conference really helped me broaden my horizons with art. I'm rather new at it, and I think this was a great way to start things off. thanks to all of massive black and the instructors who put up with people asking the same questions over and over and over. it was worth every penny and the 16 hour drive through the rainy hell that was all of california on monday night/tuesday morning.

I was going to say the exact same thing! ;)
It was amazing and really helped focus me. Not to mention the feedback and the motivation boost. Not to mention the courage to start posting work on the forums now. Just watching somone go THROUGH the creative process is amazingly helpful- much more so than just seeing the finished piece.
Thanks to everyone who make it happen!

My hearty thanks go out there as well, for everyone's committment and patience to make this all possible. I ended up taking way more insight and inspiration from this workshop than I thought I would, especially toward the final days.

Yeah this was my first workshop and a truely awe-inspiring experience. First off I have to thank Jook and DigitalRobotics for bravely driving through flood waters and scary washed-out back roads to get me home, just to find out that all the roads into Big Bear were closed due to mudslides. I ended up having to stay in a hotel until the roads opened up (I JUST got home). The first night in the hotel I got sick and ended up drinking sour milk (I bought some milk at a liquor store across the street that was 3 days sour). But I'd gladly do it all again in a heartbeat, the turmoil was definately worth it.
And it was great to make so many new friends (specially the blokes from across the pond). Oh and willow-wisp, I had to leave early and I really wished I could have said goodbye to you, but I couldn't find you :(
Inspiration definately abounded. Watching Marko work and listening to him talk about character design was a tremendous help (his explaining of patterns has me constantly observing them in the people I run across now). And getting my sketchbook crit'ed by Sweet and Andrew definately got me focused. I'm gonna be attacking anatomy like a madman now!
All in all I'm stoked about the experience, and I've been constantly thinking about the things I learned and the people I met.
