I drew this a few days ago and just got to coloring it. The hand is terribly bad, I tried to fix it and it just got worse. I'm still such a novice when it comes to art.
This was one of my drawings of the day, just something I do for practice. I tried to color it and it just doesn't look like it is working out at all.

Try using different tones of color instead of the dodge & burn tool

*rummages for a sample* I had a very good one, using different color values and now I just cannot find it anywhere. I'm more concerned with the anatomy right now. Coloring with photoshop is a great learning process. The problem I have sometimes is using different color values and making it look real. It just takes practice, something I need more of. ^^
