new to photography (rather big dl)

Hi,

I recently got into photography with my friend's camera and took these pictures. I've never read anything about photography but I would and wanna get my own camera, but is it possible to take proffesional looking pictures with any old digicam? these were done with a cheap-ass digi but I'm not sure if they're any good.

You can certainly take professional looking pictures with any camera, but the more sophisticated cameras will allow you to do several things;

- Get better results in very low light
- Allow you to print very large
- Allow you to shoot subjects that are very far away (with the right lenses, of course)

You're already off to a pretty good start, and IMO, the best digicam for you is the one that you are willing to take anywhere and use the most often. One Achilles heel of professional quality equipment is the enormous weight that you have to carry (not to mention the costs!)

hey thanks man. but what about the ones proffessional skateboard photographers use, with the display being on top so you can just stick the camera under the guy and still see, how much would those cost and would these be good for any kind of photography?
