Mine isn't as environmentally as it should be, I definatly need practice with that. I tried making a lady look somewhat statuesque, let me know if I portrayed it correctly or what I can do to further enhance the look. Thanks.

I figured I'd go for a bit of a 'Mayan' approach.

When someone offers to show you the "Fountain of Youth" they mean the back of Jimmy's Bar, where all the piss drunk boys go to have a piss, since Jimmy's only has two unisex toilets, and those always have a long line of ladies outside.
Repeat topic again Painter 30 min

Wocket - its got a cool detailed Lord of the Rings kind of feel, very groovy.
Soulfrog - nice take on things with a cool choice of colours.
Plaf - Mayan, thats super cool, plus your whole image has a really slick finish plus the sillohuet is a nice bonus.
nice stuff to everyone. and I'm expecting goran's will be good too.

great additions today, gonna try to whip something up soon
xStevex: looks nice , a bit more texture on the figures would make them seem more like statues then wax or putty, coposition is kind of plain
Wocket: nice job, I like the whispy spirit flowing water , Im glad you didnt put a face or two comming out of it, that kind of thing is so trite
Soulfrog: I really like this one, the water looks great. I think the roots and the area in the upper right could use a bit more work , thoes spots seem rushed. (lenseflare :S )
Snowball: looks like its nearly there, Ive never really tried to capture the look so I'm not sure what it takes. The technique you used, whatever it was, really makes this look nice. It almost looks like it had a watercolor base with some colored pencil over it or something. Thoes white highlights really look sweet.
plaf: <3 , I love the figure in the upper right thats overlooking the scene faded into the greys. My only gripe, and its a small one, the trees in the background are similar in shape/location to the statues ears. Just kind of looks weird. If the tree on the right side was taken out and put to the far left maybe it would look less odd. Nice job though, I love it.
goran: Only thing i can say is that the two trails of water comming from its eyes look a little too solid in some spots. It looks like yarn or glue pouring out instead of water.

XStevex-There is nice feel in it, only the direction of the flow of water is not defined.
Wocket-I love that fresh waterfall feel in it.
Soulfrog- there is something with the roots, they should be thick near to the trunk and the gradually get thinner. The light is cool.
Snowball-cool start, just do the rest, all the colors are there.
Plaf-cool design, maybee shortening at the top of the fountain head should be more extreme. Only the ears.
Hamsta-disguisting in the nice way.
Xstevex-I am glad that I didn’t disappoint you.
Sterlingcrispin-probably you are right, there is too much glow in that tears.
I like your number two. The color keys are really cool.
JackFrost-Well I am playing tough guy so I wasn't brave enough to publicly
admit.You are so right.

Sterlingcrispin, Wow, that's some trippy shit! *grin* The middle one is quite nice.
Plaf, great perspective and feeling of immensity.

hey peeps sorry I haven't responded to your great art....by the way which has been great....been struggling to get mines in on time...
rasdasa- great sketches....love the personality you express in them
arael01- don't know about the fountain of youth...maybe the fountain of desire and addiction
Sterlingcrispin- wow...looks like someone spiked the fountain
goran- like everyone else been loving every entry by you...however...this sketch I love the concept...the probolem is that I can't see exactly whats going on ...verry blurry...which takes away from this great piece
Hamsta- genius...your my pick to win what ever prizes are offered up
xStevex- no worries...that is why this thread is here to sketch... and practice
plaf- like the south american theme....almost looks like a giant teddy bear
Snowball- if this was an ice sculpture I think it works just fine... however if you are trying to achieve a look of concrete or marble...you need to refrence it....the color scheme is what throws it off
Soulfrog- nice piece...I would love to know the story behind the one last leaf...if there is one
Wocket- great feel to the piece...getting a little bit of rivendale deja vu....

Thanks for the imput - all of ya - its greatly appreciated and awesome posts from everyone!
Reasoning of Piece for Jack Frost :
I imagined that in the winter of life, just before the "last leaf" is to fall, most of us will wish for renewed youth and a postponement to the inevitable. I constructed a metaphor of that desire to be dew that condenses on the leaf and falls to a pool.
So somewhere out there is a pool, guarded by a tree with one leaf. Silently filling The Fountain of Youth. ( que violin )
Hope that helped u Jack.

Thanks Jack Frost, did you notice the female in the centre with the pregnant belly? Pretty disturbing now that I observe it after a nights sleep...
Soulfrog, that is a badass metaphor, very authentic.

soul frog....I like what you are achevieng now that I know the back story....
rasdasa, mentioned that the woman in the shape of your tree might be pregnant...is that a reflection of an ovid tale?
rasdasa

But yes, she be pregnant ;)
