This is an elven gladiator. I did it in .7 mechancal pencel in a few hours. I'm not happy with the mid section and down, at the very least i plan to add some work into the knee areas. Comments a Crits welcome.

Well, its looking pretty good so far. Few things that I feel will really pump the drawing up to the next level. Add more contrast, really bring out the dark areas on the character, right now it feels slightly flat, where it should have form. If you start to really develop those dark areas it will look alot better. Second, the hands. They are huge, not sure if this is intended but right now it looks like hes got sausages for fingers, if he is an elf, they are supposed to have graceful light features about them. And last, I am not sure if i like how it cuts off at the knees and he actually goes inside the vignette in the background. I would love to see the rest of his legs and the armor and stuff below the knees. Other then those small things, looks good. Keep on drawin. ;)

I actually agree with almost all your comments. But let me give my excuses and reasoning hehe.

The hands are intended to be big, its just my style.

The contrast is bad because the scan is actually really bad, the actual drawing has quite a bit more contrast. I could prolly go back in with a darker pencil and darken up some of it though. (keep in mind that this was all done with one .7 mechanical pencil) I tried adjusting the levels in photoshop, but it just made the picture look dirtier.

I had actually intended on drawing the legs. I got half way finished with this drawing and the maid came in and cleaned a picture above where my drawing was. (live in a hotel room right now) well when she did that she got paper wet where the legs were supposed to be, and I didn't want to draw on the withered surface and I sure as hell didn't want to redraw him cause i had already put an hour or two into him, so I just cut him off :(

Hehe, alright well I guess I will let ya slide on this one :) I have seen people do photorealistic portraits with a .3 mechanical pencil and hb lead. If they can do it, you can surely beef up your contrast a bit :) keep up the good work mate!

Very nice design! I love the look of the helmet and the hair in combination, very slick. =)

Very nice design. I like your armored guy, but besides the other things that were mentioned above, and i understand about the feet, but IMO I would still finish those feet. It really, I mean really makes the drawing suffer:(

So I would finish those feet.
