Hi all,

This is a little tank I was working on for my portfolio. I've had a running thread on the process in the sketches/WIP folder, but now that it's done I thought I'd stick it here for some C&C. The concept is a 4' tall robot sentry that patrols hallways of military installations and such. I'm not really sure how long it took me (photoshop over penline) because it was one of those work on it for 15 minutes then go cook dinner type projects. If I had to do it again I'd probably do it in a day, but that's a guess.

If anyone wants to see the WIP thread it is located here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=35140)

Correct me, if I was wrong - isn`t presketching works in style, looks like Feng Zhu?
I see the same style in his lessons on site of Gnomon Workshop.
Just siple interest...
Anyway - your art - perfect! :)

damn dude, probably coolest pic I've seen on ca so far! I love the angle, excellent details, and love how you show the sketchy line work underneath the colouring.

just ass pats, I know, but I couldn't see anything to crit!

@ Solo Alien:
I actually have 2 Ryan Church DVDs, haven't seen the Feng Zhu ones. I did have him as a teacher all my last semester so I probably picked up a lot from him, particularly in digital painting. He and I also both have Industrial Design backgrounds which might also have a bit of an influence on style.

@ emptybox:
Wow that's high praise. Thanks!

I heard about that cool DVD, but still haven`t them.
They too expencive for me, to buy.

Feng Zhu your teacher!!!? My god...
Now I understood, why your tank reminds me Feng Zhu style!
You ARE lucky man!!
All what I have - his owersome site on which I study every day. :^^;:
Because I live too far from Gnomon Workshop and can`t visit by myself.

It was big pleasure to hear that great news!!
Your work great! Your university great!

If you can - say him big and hot "Greetings!!" from his big fan! :^^:

P.S. Sorry for my corrupted english.
I just start studying it.

Well, hopefully I'm not too much like his style. :$ I'm not trying to look like Feng, but I guess it happened regardless...

Noone could be total copy of style of his teacher, iven if he want it.
Some detales are similar.
Some - totally different. Like a colors, atmosphere of art or anything else.

Maybe I`ll have the same situation if I had any teacher in art :)
But I have not... It sad and I just trying copy anything what looks great :) Excepting super detalised or have accurate geometry art...

it could use a number on the top side of the gun turret section ;) maybe the number 17

Heh I actually thought about doing that. Maybe I'll go back into it once I get done with some of these characters I'm workin'n on.
