Startin a sketchbook. Been saying I'ma start one for a few months now. Finally got a hold of a scanner at my brother's workplace so I got a few of em scanned. Will be updating hopefully often.
Little nude I did a good 2 months ago. Took I'd say about an hour or so. Close to an hour either way.

Umm image of a monster I did. I know it's a little hard to read and it's a little light but the main part I like is his big lip. Wanna kiss that thing all night long.
Deformities on his body makes it look kind of... weird but oh well.

Good thing you finnaly got access to a scanner. These pictures are great, the shading on the study really is well done, even though some areas are a little off such as the arm and collar bone. And for the creature, it has a very cool design, but its a bit hard to read on the face. And his belly button looks like it has a fruit jammed in :S . Great job, hope to see more soon!

Here's another little update. A self portrait I've finished but haven't got scanned yet. This is a progression of it a little bit. And it's a lollypop not a tumor. You can see the little stick accross my mouth. I started drawin with it in never really liked it but it gave me a little something extra to work on. Had to try to make the contour of my left mouth jump out atcha.

Bluemech- Thanks man I know I need to post more of em but I gotta get more recent ones scanned so I can get some crits on em.
LightKirtar- Lol I know you're used to those Domai girls. Ya that image didn't have a lot of major contrasts in it. I exaggerated on some of them but ya i do feel that I might have missed one of the shadows under the colar bone and such.
SiNE- Ya I use to be a total wimp with values a good 6 months ago. Wouldn't go lower than a 2 on the value scale. But now I'm trying to force myself to use dark values to really bring my pictures out. The regular average joe always likes the ones that have a lot of dark. They say wow before the picture is even fully exposed. Dark does get the juices flowing.
I feel that I need to work on figure drawings more. I need to try to make the figures as realistic as possible. I'm a realism nut. Thanks for all the crits guys. I'll try to update as much as possible.

Yo daunting good to see you finally get your stuff up! Your last drawing looks like some pretty solid anatomy knowledge to me at least. Some more darks would be good, but also try to focus your contrast around important areas of the image.

Looking good.
One thing that stands out to me is that you shade right around your lines, rather then where the lights and darks actually are. (like in the second-down troll pic). Carefully compare that to a nude at the top that you drew from observation, i'm sure you'll see the difference. More observational drawing, _see_, don't just look. Keep it up.

Thanks Yutani... ya thought of that while doing him... but I didn't really see the relevance of it at the moment... Now I see that it's really relevant in most works of art. Bad part is I'm not looking at too many references while doing it... I probably have to rise up my reference usage for these pics.
Oh and I forgot about you some guy. Thanks for posting man, I gotta check out your sketchbook again think you should be on that list with all the up and comers. Improving like a psycho.

The face looks kinda flat, like it's just on his face. Also i think with the perspective youre using, his whole face needs to be pushed up a little further from his chin.
Otherwise, I like it. You gunna add colour?

Zebz: Yo man. I know I need to do so many more studies. Lot's of times I don't have the time to do that many life drawings of people cuase they pose for a good 30 seconds at tops and the I'm only on the computer for so long. But that is no excuse. I NEED TO DO MORE STUDIES. /me tattoos it on his chest.
Yo Blue: Ya I didn't like the face the first minute I did it so I gave up on it. I might go back on it and refine the face a bit. the whole structure is wrong like you said. I don't know if I'm going to add color to that. I might... well i really should I'll try to keep ya updated.

heyaa, dang I see A LOT of progress, the leopard on top of this page is awesome, the little golfer is funny and your "Little nude im taking WAY too long on" is stunning. I totally love the light & shadow on and between her legs, beautiful rendering. want to see the finished piece!
to crit-a-bit, - some of your figures look too bulky, especially the arms. ( like on the latest two: here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/Daunting/Agnesthedrawingidliketofuck.jpg) and here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/Daunting/Trofixinupshit.jpg) ) even though these ladies are warriors (warrioresses? hum :) ), their arms look unnatural to me. the muscles are too "round" which makes them look a bit like swellings. to [i]me, at least, and I donk know much about anatomy :[ .

dorian: Thanks a lot dude for the rendering. Always was a render freak. The bulk arms are a dead give away in the stuff I draw from my memory. Still probably have a male figure in my head, need to draw more girls that'll get that out of me. My lack of knowledge for female and pretty much anatomy period can explain the wavy arms. Thanks a ton I'll take what you've said about the arms into detailed consideration.
Majofo: nice meeting ya. Ya im pretty much done with that pic but it wouldnt take much touching it up here and there in some places. ill fix it.
Mike: Thanks a lot Mike, ya I might do a few more catts and furry animals like to render em.
incognito: Hey ya Ive never really paied much attention to the gradients. Takes time showing a good shift in value and my mind just blocks it out ill pay closer attention to that.

great stuff daunt, your improving alot. your line work and rendering is very clean and cool. nice stuff.
Nice to see you working on vehicles and perspective stuff. Some thing which may help you here to study lots of everyday things like trains or cars or cranes.. all kinds of techy shit. Studying this helps you get ideas of the bist and pieces involved and the style, like you engines and metal joints and stuff like that.
This will defintly help you add the authentic touches like pitons and pipes and carboretors ... ? Will help add some realism to it.
Keep up the good work man, you improving fast.
