I like the drawings with more character and emotion in the expressions. I dont really like fan art, but a few of the batman ones are altered enough to give him a diffrent spin, which is nice.
keep it up, your schoolwork that is.
When your out of school you'll have a good 40 years to doodle in your free time, and you wont be able to go back to thoes 5 years that school was more important. That is untill you get into college and your schoolwork IS drawing.

i like hitler tied up..that was clever and i like fan art to see how others draw there favorites...comic book fan myself. but other than that id like to see what imagination you got locked up and what you yourself can come up with instead of drawing mostly just fanart. nice job.

Hey, kid, what's up?
What can I say? You're on your way. I was way impressed by just the QUANTITY of stuff you had! I doodled in school too, but I don't know if I did NEARLY that much!
I can't wait to see how your artwork evolves over the next five years. Keep plugging away at the artwork, and try not to fail school, aiiiight?

thanks to all
now 'bout the school I'm kinda good at it (in my country the grades are like this 2,3,4,5,6 6 is the good and two is the poor-I'm like this 2,3,4,2,4,5,6,3,4,4,4,5,3,6,3.....etc),but 'bout learning drawing thingy in my country we have only animation and some stuff to learn to draw like van gock or some guy who died 20000 years ago :[ . I'm going to learn 'bout animation 'cause I don't wanna go in the army yet(we have to go in the army for 9 months for some reasons I can't tell 'cause I can't write it in english-I forgot the words :bashful: )
now 'bout showing some of my stuff

wow i love that hitler. that's gotta be the most lovable hitler out there. i know that's not what you were going for, but i like it :P
my crit is that your women seem..manly. They have thick builds and large hands, which are characteristic of men. They could stand to be more delicate..like try thinning them out in the wrists for example. i think you can make kickass chicks while avoiding the manly traits.

December 27th, 2004, 02:48 AM
well thank you all for looking at my stuff-that is.
now for SeraphSword about Joe mad to tell you the truth I know 'bout MAD for a year now but he sure has some influence in my style, my style is three part style- japanish, americanish and europian-ish, don't get me wrong but my style as you see is nothing compared to joe but I'm not trying to draw like him
I have some stuff in my style he doesn't, well I'm stoping 'cause I really have much to say 'bout joe mad('cause I'm his fan from the moment I saw his cover for spidey the manga-man it was great) :star:

ExeCute 'bout the hitler I did it to piss off one skin head from my class
,now 'bout the girls you're right I'm still working on 'em.but I wanna make them like better fighters then the men 'cause you know my opinion is that the women are not the fair sex 'cause when I see a girl(a cute that is)
I fall in her feet, you follow? :gasmask:

Whats up Drazen?! You mentioned that you were in school but, what grade are you in? When really looking at your work you can realize that you have some serious potential because you seem to be able to translate on paper whats in your head. many of those poses that you did some people would have serious difficulty with and it didnt seem like you even erased.. I for one am very impressed and no matter what grade your in. the colors and shadows on the sword, the comic your working on, the hitler (which has tons of character), the action poses.. Wow.. Keep it up man... If you were able to go to a life drawing class you'd be in.... Draw your friends, neighbors, family members, girlfriend, whatever.. It would help you improve your advanced skill.. Keep it up.. draw as much as you can, whenever you can, and the more your mother burns the paper the more you should draw to replace it!

vigostar now I'm in 12 grade.this is my last year in the high school, and when I graduate I'll try to go study animation('cause in Bulgaria we don't have classes for studying comics art :\ )but I'm not going to forget 'bout the comics they are my second love(the first was one girl that broke my heart :^^;: ). 'bout the erasers I don't use 'em (much that is) I try to work without 'em,but sometimes I just have to use 'em, to tell you even my teachers in school(1-8 class) were wondering how I can draw without using erasers.
so to ask you if my comics comes out on the market wil you buy a issue or two? :yayca:

In the last picture the shape of the mans bicep is very similar in location and size to the shape of her breast, it looks slightly strange. Also its kind of weird that the mans face is perfectly covered up. I dont know if theres some depeer reason behind it, it just seems strange.

as far as your stylistic work I feel it is still weak. You have some great ones from time to time (spiderman and venom) but overall you still have things (anatomy) you need to work on. The more finished peices loose the spontinaity of the sketches. Its normal. I have the same problem with my work. On the other hand your small thumbs of people in action are simply awesome. AMAZING!!! you should do everything small like that and then blow it up and see what you can do with them.

Learn the basics before u go into that sort of stuff.... that is unless u even care to listen to me peace.. other then that tight doodles.

Not bad dude. I think you could really benefit from a book called "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way." You're getting a grasp on style and posing, but your characters will benefit so much from construction drawing. Learning to draw like an animator with gesture and construction, and moving away from contour drawing. Just a friendly suggestion.

Very promising work lots of good things happening here. It looks like you have a future in the comic scene, but keep an open mind when it comes to learning new things for example; life drawing and painting color theory ect. They will help you strenthen the foundation of your work. Keep at it

Let me take a stab at this. Looking at all the art on page 1, I'd say your influences are 80% Joe Mad, 15% Ed McGuinness and some Carlos Pacheco. Could be wrong on Carlos, but the other two are for sure. The bald scientist guy with the mustache is straight out of Deadpool, and the guy in the suit resembles almost every picture of Bastion Mad ever drew(I am also a huge fan, I have almost every one of his books even the early work).
My biggest crit to give you is the side and 3/4 profile of all your men and women is (was?) uncomfortably too similar to Mad's style imo. The contour of the nose, lips and chin and the way the hair falls; I've seen each pic before in a Mad comic.
By the looks of your later work, I can tell you've distanced yourself a bit from Mad's style, and I strongly suggest heading in that direction. The best art in this thread to me was in the last post you made. I love the girl with the shovel. Very natural and relaxed posture, you pulled it off perfectly. I'd love to see more recent work if you have more.

You are gettin better ^^
Really nice comic stuff. But stay away of the Animes, it doesnt look right when you draw it in this "american-comic" stile.
All of the others are great. Try to work out an owen stile and you are perfect.

hehe the chick with the shovel-she's my fave I really like the way I pulled her off I'm really happy you like her:^^:
you're right about a lot of stuff Joe Mad really was a big of an influence for me back then, right now I'm drawing in a style that is..uhhh... well mine:teeth: right now my style is more manga-ish then the joe mad style I started with(I think???:x ), but I'll leave that choice to you :teeth: . I would love to show you some of my new stuff but I don't have the rights to show 'em without asking the boss I think this here is the only one I haven't posted in this thread:

Forgive me for being something of a newbie (hey, we all start somewhere), but I'm a huge fan of your style and the stuff you've posted here. I was just wondering a couple of things: how much base "framework", if you will, do you lay down before diving into details? I feel like I overdo mine, which leads to messy light sketchy lines everywhere from dividing things into sections and so forth; I admire, in part, the cleanness of all your pen drawings, for example.
The second thing is, what pens or pencils do you use? I use a 5H pencil and then a mechanical pencil with 2B lead...it works alright, I suppose, but I'm curious what you use to achieve the crisp lines that you do.
Thanks in advance. :) Again, I really admire your stuff. Definitely some of my favorite stuff on this board.

HI so samling I'll try to answer you questions-well I always am in a hurry when I draw pages so I guess the first try for the layouts is the one I do:rolleyes:
well when I started drawing I started with pens at first-I think that's one of the reasons I don't use the eraser so much and second I'draw my rough sketches with a blue pencil:
first I use the blue pencil to do the rough sketch then I start doing the clean lines with my mechanical/automatic pencils one 0.3 and one 0.5 with a B lead
ok so here is one of my experiments-I was trying to do snow this time:

just looking at the top of the thread and seeing how your skill level has progressed in such short a time is encouraging to say the least. it means that we must be doing something right here at :yayca: hehe. i feel your latest stuff is your strongest by far, because even tho a lot of it is still anime, youve lent some more realism to the characters by smoothing the curves and giving more humanistic proportions and such. the supergirl with the shovel my personal fave. keep it up ill be looking for more!
