Hello all. Just looking for some heavy critquing (sp). These might be a little large, sorry. Sharpie and/or .9mm drafting pencil (HB):

I don't mean to spill my history on you (like an egotistical moron), but...
I'm 16, and I've been creating art all my life, although seriously only for the last 1 1/2 years. Please critique away.

Nice line qualities! I definitely like the ones where your line work is starting to help add depth to the pieces. Using linework selectively in cross hatching & shading is a strong suit. I'd still love to see how you'd do a piece from just observation with other mediums as well. Solid start!

There _are_ a lot of nice lines here. However, I see you picking one kind of line in a piece, and using it exclusively. Try mixing it up, use different kinds of line in the same piece, try hatching in some areas and leaving others clean, and drop some of your solid darks in other places. By varying your line, you'll be able to focus attention where you want it. Is the eye the most important? Try placing some really dark darks, and poppin highlights there. Is the form important? Try leaving some areas with a clean mid-tone and accent the areas that really come out into the light.
For figures, Andrew Loomis is the master: http://www.saveloomis.org. His figure drawing pdf is invaluable.
As for linework, Jon Wayshak may not be your style, but he uses a whole variety of lines, splotches, and shading in almost every piece. Check him at http://www.scrapbookmanifesto.com/, peek at his personal works.
