Dear community,

My son made me aware about this place here, not easy to get used towards the new technology and all the posibilities - still learning, so be patient.

Here are some of my works majorely oil on canvas, featuring portraits based on various reference material. I would be glad about any constructive critics and comments about composition and technique that would help to improve myself.

Thx for your help and merry christmas from Switzerland

Welcome.

I like your use of color, these are very vibrant and inviting. You also have a good sense of choosing compositions that compliment the subject matter. My only criticism, which is not really a criticism, is that these pieces definitely have the feel of fine art rather than professional illustration. In that light, you may want to also take part in various other communities on the net that are more focused towards fine art. If you're interested in digital painting or life drawing techniques, Conceptart.org is a great place to learn and be inspired by others. ;) Thanks for posting, I enjoyed seeing your work.

welcome jacqui!

the first painting reminds me a lot of lempicka's works. could depent on the scan but i miss some deeper shadows...anyway a really nice work.
the other have all the same warm, positive energy. i enjoyed them much...especially liked the face of marlon. also has beautiful colors...
im just getting into oil-painting so i cant give any constructive comments, but i would try to wash up the strokes, work with smaller pensils and mainly make more shadows.
in my opinion you're right here so i would like to see more of your work.

lookin forward...

greetings from austria
