This eggplant has been picked as a young child and forced into a can with his fellows and submerged in salted and spiced water. While his outside began to pickle, his insides turned to the dark side, and his revenge started to form, waiting for the day he was released >:D
Painter 45min some PS layer modes and voila

Sorry I haven't replied in a while been getting these in quite close

juan_cadillac_I don't know if that is a red cabage or a red in the face ear of corn

zuez- I shall never again...

Hamsta- love the story behind the inspiration....great pic....ready to strike

goran- amazing pieces...two even....I have a question...are there 3d textures on those or lighting....what is the cool effect?

mercapto_ nice evil cabage...just a little suggestion..if it is male maybe shrink the lip size and color

sercoe- looks evil to me in a emoticon way...what did it do squash a cherry :)

Jack frost-Thanks man, and yes you are right the textures are from some software called: Texture Maker, and the rest is painter 8 and Photoshop 7.There is some photo effect in Painter: add grain too. And glow effect too. I found this stuff really fun, so maybe I will do more evil food illustrations. And I got some free textures I found here and there; they were so artificial that I thought I would never use them.I think on the potato I used lightind effest from Painter.

Goran, I like your pictures too. They looks almost realistic with the texture and lighting and all. The banana looks like a shark.

juan_cadillac, I also like your picture. I sorta reminds me of the sarlacc of star wars.

I just want to ask the whole DSG posse a favour. Can you guys scrutinize my work until I cry? It's the only way I'll improve.

Thanks,

Faustus

Faustus, looking good, I like how you made the nose a part of the stem. Minor crit, and it's because you're asking :P ... photoref could have helped the upper part (above the stem), for instance the highlights could have been more circular to resemble real brocolli more, and the diff parts could have been separated a bit more.

juan_c, I likes !

A picture is worth a thousand words, and an illustration is worth a thousnd pictures. Here is an overpaint of your piece Faustus, showing you what a hitlerbrocolli really looks like (yours is more of a Stalin ;) )

And a note to others - the best you could come up with is adding eyes? Aside from Goran's potato which really could have eyes. 'evil' stalks/roots and a jagged ridge as a mouth. Everything else is so banal - add some teeth, evil looking eyes and voila something evil.

Faustus,
For the Broccoli Florets you might want to try using a sponge brush for them or an airbrush splatter like in the example. Depending on what effect you want, then touching up by hand where you see fit.

Hamsta,
You might want to spend a little more time on your picture then the background story. The idea is to tell the story visually and to be honest I can't tell what it is. :teeth:

Look up pickled baby eggplants (the red kind) these seem to be Israeli in origin, but you can get anything anywhere these days. Coming up with stories dose'nt take that long.
here's an eggplant I dissacted just for you :P
