first one done without reference {probably inspired by Myst IV, that little beast is fantastic...}. only used pencil.

I know his head sucks. people say he's ugly in real-life {something I don't share with 'them'}, but this certainly is an awful depiction of Thom Yorke.

this is good stuff, especially your values and shading are strong. Obviously you have some problems with anatomy. If you learn a bit more about anatomy youll have an easier time doing portraits and getting resemblance.
